Post Estate Steel shot..
Anyone else notice, you can get 1 3/8oz 3'' from estate? they are usually 12-13 per box..

shot some last season and they shot very well! Just for comparison, the expert (chepo winchester) 3 1/2'' are 1 3/8 for like 15-16 per box...so in all reality you are shooting the same amount of shot as 3 1/2'' so no real gain there....Just shooting em a little faster.

I agree,,,i found they shot damn good, i just like the fact they have much more shot in them than other 3''.....

Anybody know of any others that offer 1 3/8 in 3''???

They may be dirty, but shot well....

Many of the ammo companies are moving away from the slower loads like the 3" 1 3/8oz @ 1300fps. The ones that do offer the 3" rounds like that are also the only ones that are making the 3.5" 1 9/16oz loads.

By the way estate is now owned by federal and has been for several years now.

I fine they shot good for what they were...

Not to sure if those "fast" rounds are all that effective! I watched a guy pattern his gun and those remington super high velocity steel were bad ass,,and penetrated farther than others, However they would only put like 6 pellets in the kill zone as opposed to much cheaper shells that put more than double that....

I might go buy about 6 boxes and just pattern the damn gun to see what shoots best. I know for sure just because they are expensive dont mean they shoot well, and just becuase they are cheap dont mean they are worth it.....

i found the estate shot well for what they were,,,i might do some testing and keep you posted..

You will find in general that the faster loads blow patterns. It takes a lot of time patterning with different chokes to get it to work.

The slower loads pattern much better so you end up with more shot where you need it. If you go too slow you end up with a load that isn't effective like the early steel loads. They were heavy and too slow which limited their effective range.

I can tell you that my beretta likes anything under 1500 fps anything over that velocity the patterns will not hold together without choking the shit out of it.
