9:30 AM – Launch at Port Neches State Park
Once you launch go immediately to the far side of the river
10:00 AM – 1st Wave can head to the mud
10:30 AM – 2nd & Final wave of boats leave ramp for the mud
Noon – Lunch on the water
4:00 PM – Boats return to launch, get cleaned up for dinner and live music
7-10:00 PM – Live Music, Opportunity Drawing & Dinner – Location TBD

100% of all proceeds from the Opportunity Drawing & Live Auction will be donated to a 501c3 organization to be determined & agreed upon by the organizers before the event.

***Please be responsible if you choose to drink, release waivers for the event will need to be signed by all participants. This form will be made available weeks prior to the event & can be e-mailed before or handed in that weekend. All forms must be on file with the event organizers before you can be allowed to launch. If you choose to launch at a different site please make plans to get us the form beforehand.

I think this sounds like a great idea. Looking at the calender, maybe you can adjust the dates to either the first or last weekend of February, 1st-3rd or 22-24? Reason being, and not that it would have any significant affect on attendance, but the 8th, 9th, and 10th is Mardi Gras weekend next year. Just a thought...

Also, I would like to add:

Charitable donations to the 501c3 will be tax deductible. Any donations made out directly to the charity will be given a receipt for tax purposes.

Companies or INDIVIDUALS that wish to sponsor different areas of the event can contact me so I can get a list going. For example a company may want to sponsor the food we eat Friday night or provide the live music etc.

There's many options to get involved and show your support. I believe this will be a great way to increase attendance, support of our goal and in turn everyone that participated will be giving back to the community.

First weekend in Feb is Superbowl weekend here in NOLA
Second weekend in Feb is Mardi Gras here in Louisiana

Looks like you took the reigns on it this year, I guess. Few things to keep in mind, no drinking allowed at the ramp area (city park), and unless you're planning on getting with City of Port Neches, I'm not sure where you planned to set up booths at.

How bout on pleasure island where they used to have the shrimp fest back in the day. They've got a stage there and plenty of room. Don't know who you'd contact about it though, just a thought.

I also think that if we dontate money to a cause make it a local cause to the local area in SETX or to Delta or DU

I know Delta is using local chapter funds to do a Mottled duck study.

I think an outdoor event would be fun but those are sometimes hard to come by especially when you don't live in the area and know all the places that would be good to look at.

I'm in, but I have a suggestion. Can we please make this a non-family event. I want to see something shocking this time.

the pleasure island commission is who you would need to contact for out there...they also have an rv area right next to where the stage is but hotels are not real close by road but we could prolly launch and boat in to facilities from the bridge city bridge and that way no one is on the road for very long if they are drinking. They can load up boat go over bridge and pull into hotel.....Also at that launch is some good seafood....esthers...maybe an idea for dinner, i know they have 2 pretty big dinning areas.

caddo should be private.....that place would be dangerous with the fools that show up at the setx run that many people ,somebody would die.....

I do agree that you could do small things to make the run interesting. Two years ago going to Daley's and bull shitting with everyone was great. They had raffles and stuff which was nice and even did some BBQ. Just something like this is really nice. I think the card idea for a Killer Kallz is good too. Its 5 bucks at a chance to win something.

I think the KC hall would be big enough. Or even the Brad Club. Or IF we could ask Keith he has the big steel canopy behind Daley's. I'll do what I can to help out but don't have time to organize it myself.

Sounds like there is more complaining than wanting to ride, c'mon guys lets not gutter this ride, we have been successful for the past 3 years and we've had alot of fun and meet new people every time we ride. With that said i'm sure we'll have alot of fun regaurdless. Lets not knock people that are putting ideas out there, nothing is set in stone, lets make it fun and have a good ride, every year this happens and some people don't want to come because of the BS that goes on in here. I for one don't want that, iand i know none of you do either, everythig i read above has been a suggestion only to get feedback, lets keep it clean and ride. This is truning in to a really fun event with people driving from states away, lets make it worth their trip.

I honestly don't care who organizes it. I'm not the original organizer & I only took the reigns last year when Justin & Keestan were both too busy. It just sounded like you were taking over because we couldn't do a good enough job.
The big organized event is a damn good idea & I've said that before. On the other hand, SETX is not the best venue for it. The public already hates us doing it, making it bigger here will only create problems.
