 Loosing sleep already
Already lost a bit of sleep over opening weekend and it's over a month away, and a bolt upright I've slept through the alarm one. Started a bit later this year thankfully.

 Re: Loosing sleep already
Now I see that it's gotta kill you all during our hunting seasons looking at pics...cuz it's depressing that we have another 6 months before we can blast tealbirds!

 Re: Loosing sleep already
It's a great time of year here. The reds are roaring, trout season finishes end of april, geese are moving again (not that I've had a can chance to hunt one since the molt). Planning a fishing trip this weekend (I get 4 days), carry in some decoys, try and shoot a swamp stag and hoping to lay some .22 rounds into a mob of white geese that are establishing themselves in Waituna.

 Re: Loosing sleep already
Hey its spring mounting season here right now. Thats what guys called the spring back in the old days. If you wanted to mount a nice half moon head teal you waited till mounting season to get one. All of the birds flying back north are spectacular right now. My slough just out my back door is bustling with ducks and geese right now. The geese are all hissy at each other. We had a huge wad of shovelers hanging around when the back water was out and their colors were awesome. The pond down the road had buffelheads doing their spring strut.

 Re: Loosing sleep already
Is that a volcano at the horizon in that picture?

I thought it was a big ant pile. But a volcano seems more logic.

 Re: Loosing sleep already
Thats Bluff hill the bottom of South island. The wee port town of bluff is under it and tyre dark mountains in the background is Stewart island. It's just a really nice day, unseasonably nice. The tarn is up above the lagoon but still less than half a km from the coast.
