 Inboard Mud Boat I was in the market for a new boat and weighed my options. I decided to go with another inboard mud boat. Here are a few pics of the build. Re: Inboard Mud Boat This is a neat build. Question: how are you going to link the sterring? Why did you decide to go with straight gearbox instead of reverse gearbox? I'm thinking about building an inboard myself and want to try to adapt the Gator Tail belt drive and reverse setup to power it. Seems like it would be easy to do.

Re: Inboard Mud Boat That looks like a normal clutch with reverse to me. I would think that trying to use a belt drive system for an inboard mudboat would fail just like the chain drive system Waymaker tried.

Re: Inboard Mud Boat Waymaker had a similar set that used a chain drive system instead of shaft drive and it just didnt hold up. Honestly if your wanting to be innovative it may work but I just don't think it would be as strong as the traditional shaft drive set up. Also I dont know what it would cost but I do know you can purchase a new 35 with a clutch already bolted up in the neighborhood of $4500.
