 Re: Handgun F.E.'s
Da .40 cal seems to fit your description. You will fing arguments about which brand yada yada. I have the Springfield XD40 with the 5" tactical barrel. I shot it and a glock. I rahter the fit of the XD. Now the XDM40 is nice too as you get different hand grips and a match grade barrel.

 Re: Handgun F.E.'s
take a look at the 45/410 from taurus you can shot +p 45 loads or 410 shotgun shells. 5 shot revolver and is a blast rabbit hunting.

 Re: Handgun F.E.'s
this is a revolver and it is great I got the stainless model 6 inch barrel if you ever go hunting rabbits and stuck in briars you'll have a blast, and although you not supossed to you can knock the shit out woodcock with it pretty easy. the stock .45 colts aren't to powerful but you can shoot .410 slugs or the +p .45 rounds and I have killed a 130 lbs hog at 25 yards.

this may help but I would get the 6 inch if you want to hunt with it too.

 Re: Handgun F.E.'s
Really depends on what you plan to use it for. My fav is the 1911 of course. But aside from that I have carried a glock for many years now. The G-22 is a full size duty pistol and to large for comfortable concealed carry IMO. I carry a G-23 which is midsize and just right for my large hands but even it is not ideal. For everyday carry in any attire its hard to beat a 5 shot .38 in a light weight configuration and +P ammo. Even in shorts and a tee shirt it blends right in. A good belly band holster is pretty comfortable in shorts. If you need more than 5 shots your better be headed back to the truck for the 12ga. Get something to big or heavy and you will end up leaving it behind before long. Taurus handguns are pretty decent and I have not heard of any inherent problems with them. If fact if you go with the .38 its what I would buy in a stainless or titanium finish. Most gunfights take place at a distance of only a couple feet and history has shown that the person scoring the first solid hit is usually the winner. I'd give him 2 or 3 just for good measure though.

 Re: Handgun F.E.'s
I'd seriously consider a hamerless DA .38 then. No thinking involved, just draw, point and pull the trigger. +P .38 is more than adequit to fork up some azzholes day permanently.

 Re: Handgun F.E.'s
The 101 is an excellent handgun. But a little heavy, almost twice that of an "airweight" smith or "light weight" taurus.

 Re: Handgun F.E.'s
I would highly recomend a glock 27-.40 cal. Great gun, will not rust, can fit in most pants pockets, light, 9 +1 mag capacity or use larger .40 model glock mags, easy to clean, and reliable. If you were carrying a browning highpower, then u will love carrying the glock. Smith and springfield make great pistols but they don't make a autoloader that compairs to the glock compacts for concealed carry.

 Re: Handgun F.E.'s
If you were to expand your caliber options to include 380, I would highly recommend the new Sig Sauer P238. I just got one last week in Nightron, rosewood grips & tritium sights.
It's a 380 built on the 1911 frame design. Very easily concealed and shoots well.

 Re: Handgun F.E.'s
I have a Glock 23 (.40 cal) that I like alot. It's a bit big unless I'm wearing something a little baggy. The pistol I carry day in, day out is a Beretta Tomcat in .32 Auto. 7+1 in the chamber. Might check it out. As previously stated if it's too big you'll wind up leaving it at home sometimes.

 Re: Handgun F.E.'s
If you are comfortable carrying the browning everyday, you may disagree but here is what I have found. I have three pistols that I carry interchangeably based on what I am doing, how many.......ummmm...."people"..., I think I might have to shoot, etc. A Springfield XD(M) in 40: This one gets carried the least. With 16+1 rounds, it is heavy. The 4.5" barrel and the full size grip makes it a challenge to conceal. But it shoots like a dream. I carry it when I have on a jacket or a baggy, untucked shirt. I have a bladetech ultimate concealment holster (IWB) and it is nice but still comparatively hard to conceal. A FNH Five-Seven (5.7x28mm): I bought this gun as a novelty/investment/enjoyment a few years ago and loved it! I never thought I would carry it for a PD gun but with "custom" ammo from eliteammunition.com it is a viable PD weapon and it is very concealable and ultralight even with 20+1 rounds. I carry it in a IWB bladetech also and it is more comfortable and better hidden than the XDM just because it is more rounded off and lighter. I also have some tracer rounds for it which make it a blast to shoot, if the 20+ cap wasnt enough. It is also scary accurate. I can put all 20 rounds into a man sized target at 100 yards at a pretty good rate and can dump them into a basketball at about 50. Last but most carried: http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/ ... sFirearm=YIt weighs almost nothing, carries comfortably in my front pocket, on my hip, or on my ankle for any situation or any clothing. The laser is worth the $ 10x over! I can kill your ass across the room, in under 1.5 seconds from resting and never break eye contact to look at the gun. The laser makes target aquisition a non-issue.

 Re: Handgun F.E.'s
H&K P2000 Sub Compact .40 cal is what I roll with, Corbon hollow points just to let em know you aint messing around. It's a polymer frame with a stainless steel (black in color) slide, tritium night sights and tac rail up front. It's a good gun for concealed carry. Best bang for the buck would have to be the glock but I would suggest SigSauer or HK if you got a few extra $$$$!

Another vote for the Glock 23 .40. Great all around pistol. Know some guys who really like the Beretta PX4 as well.

 Re: Handgun F.E.'s
I have three different guns that I use for carry. smith fullsize 1911, Springfield EMP 9MM, and a Keltec 380. I carry the 380 more then anything, but always have something bigger in the truck.
