Any body tried duck kites? 2 weeks out from opening and I'm starting to get the s#@t what I forgotten, whats going to give us an edge? On advice we purchased a hidgon splasher flasher, I think it's going to be the ducks nuts. Going to check and top up the feeder this weekend and leave the pond alone untill the opening day. |

If anybody does make it this far south on holiday I'm always keen for a hunt, ducks, deer, goats, rabbits, I'm not a guild by any stretch of the imagination and the most I can guarantee is a hungover, still something different. So nobody tried a kite? |

thought about trying but never pulled the trigger on getting any. I figured since the ducks around where i hunt look at the robo-ducks so hard an flare sometimes it might hurt my spread more than helping it out |

Are you talking about a JackKite? If so, they work awesome for Geese. Never used it for ducks, but they do have a mallard version. Biggest problem is storing and transporting them. Unless you break them down flat, they will look like sh!t the following season. |

You have to assemble them. Technically they snap together, but it would be a major PITA to take them apart each time. I used a large 3 X 2 cardboard box, and put them in it. I also used cane poles (for fishing) to fly them. Works very well, but cumbersome. Suggest you purchase ONE first and try it out before a major investment. I use 6 for goose hunting. |

I bought some fatal flashers last year but never used them. They look real good on youtube, but sorta silly in person. |

I've never used the reel wings but I've been told they were hard to keep up in the air at times with certain wind conditions. |

Seems like the wind don't blow in Texas during duck season lol don't think they would work too great |

I have watched a ton of videos of New Zealand hunting. Do you really need kites? Thought they came in no matter what. IMO all that extra crap takes up space. Bought a higdon pulsator once. Worked one time and broke. Never again. Its just like fishing. All that gear is marketed for the hunter/fisher rather than the duck/fish. It lures more folks than game. |
