I asked Tal this morning by phone if he knew where to get lead core rope. He said he was going to do some checking. I am looking for 50lb or 65 lb lead core. Anyone know where to get this rope in bulk? Thanks.

Randy I used to work at a commercial marine/oil field supply shop years ago and we used to sell it.

We used to get it from some importers up in New Orleans. The shop I worked at has been shut down for years now but I'm not sure if Poydras hardware down here doesn't sell it. I'll check it out

Thanks guys. I have been a customer at Memphis Net and twine for thirty years. Their prices are very high on lead core rope. I have several thousand feet of foam core rope. I use the foam core top and lead core bottom for drift nets. We stumbled onto some lead core a few years back for a good price. Its all used up and time to order some more. I found some on ebay and called the seller. He told me he would figure a price since I wanted a lot and call me back. He has yet to call back. He said he was a rinky dink marine supply and did not stock much lead core rope. T al said lead core is used by the crabbers from the trap to the float. I am hoping you guys would have a good lead on some.

The shipping is the catch now days on lead core rope. However I will buy enough to ship it on a pallet by truck if I can get a decent price on some.

Cajun you ought to see the gill netting I use now. Its salmon netting. Multi strand six inch square twelve inch stretch. Soft as multi tough as mono. it has seven fine strands twisted together and looks like a single strand[177]. Its got a secret color I had formulated.

Net man....I'm sure u have a good recipe goin, but I cant remember seeing multi strand out catch single strand....specially not in daylight.

try the clear water green. the multi strand outlast and out catches the single. We can only use the five and six inch during winter fishing only. The rest of the year is four inch.

By the way I'm still looking for lead core rope should anyone know of any good buys on it.
