6 would be very nice. When you're on them, 4 happens in no time.

 Re: Teal Birds
I don't see where it would be a problem to push the limit up to 6 they always have a shit load of teal for teal season. Sure hope La goes the same route

 Re: Teal Birds
I would like it to change but at the same time I hear a lot of people say they don't hunt teal season because of the 4 bird limit. I would rather have less people on tha water than 2 extra birds I think

 Re: Teal Birds
I know they are meeting today to discuss the issue. I'm not sure if its all the concerned flyway councils but Larry Reynolds said La will be going over the same issues today.
I'd love the additional birds while maintaining a 16 day season. A while back there was talk about adding tree ducks and wood ducks during the sept season. The only downfall was that where states were allowed that option they had to give up days in the field for the other birds in the bag. That's not worth it in my opinion.

 Re: Teal Birds
It could be a 2 bag limit and I'd still go out. Either way I'm fine with it

 Re: Teal Birds
the tree ducks an woodies would be nice but i wouldn't want to give up any days. Im like lunacris if it would just be a 2 duck limit i'd still be out there

If the population improved 200%, leave the 4 bag and give me 2 more weeks, move it from sept to oct

 Re: Teal Birds
The early teal season cannot run into Oct as per the Feds. It was started years ago as a way to get a shot at birds that were long gone by regular season as they are the earliest migrators.
I'd be happy with a season that ran all sept with 4 birds

 Re: Teal Birds
yea this year i saw huge flocks of ducks well into april. The longer split idea is a good one too that could really work. It would take the pressure off the birds an allow time for more new ducks to come down

 Re: Teal Birds
I would trade anything just to keep the duck commander wannabes from ever hunting. I think they should make legal duck hunting to 30 year old or more

 Re: Teal Birds
Usually you get your commanders first few weekends of each split. This year it was the whole year. Sights I seen would blow your mind. Once you put pressure on the birds they go out offshore well last year they stayed gone.

 Re: Teal Birds
Am I reading this wrong or no? Maybe my eyes and brain are phuggin with me I don't know. My research has not shown a 200% inccrease in teal.
What I have learned is a 95% increase over a 10 year expectation. Thus allowing 200 to 225% increase in harvested birds without hurting their population.
I did not read there was a 200% increase in teal.
