 Sitka Gear
Those who have the sitka clothing what jacket do you prefer? Looking at getting a new one for duck hunting. Want something completely waterproof and warm. Any input appreciated. Thanks!

 Re: Sitka Gear
Id suggest getting the Hudson.. its a great overall jacket with Gore Tex and will be plenty warm. I highly suggest getting the traverse hoody or zip t as well.. that paired with either the hudson or delta wading jacket is money

 Re: Sitka Gear
I have the Delta Wading Jacket. Great outer shell and completely waterproof. I will usually just layer underneath it depending on the temp as it is not insulated at all.
I'm going to pickup on of the "bigger" coats this summer when the new lineup of Sitka gear comes out.

 Re: Sitka Gear
I'm trying to get away from bulk. My drake stuff is OK but I always end up wet if it rains. I'd rather have something to do it all vs packing seperate rain gear.

 Re: Sitka Gear
Yeah my drake stuff is okay if it's on and off raining but if it's constant then it seems that it seeps through. But in a downpour and it's not cold I don't even wear a drake because it ends up weighing 50 damn pounds. Just a hoodie and frog togs jacket with it on the outside of my waders

 Re: Sitka Gear
Contemplating on this too. Although a friend if mine bought a natural gear waterfowl jacket and it's on point. The Nat gear stuff I have isn't waterproof but i do like it for layering.

 Re: Sitka Gear
I like a good base layer and a good windblocker hooded sweatshirt all year, hate bulky jackets.
Think I might pick up the new Dakota hoodie to try this season.

 Re: Sitka Gear
You will like it... It can be used as a base layer on colder days and through a delta wade or hudson over it and be extremely warm no matter how cold it is

 Re: Sitka Gear
Waterfowl pattern is to bright for the areas I mostly hunt just my opinion. I guess instead of better patterns I should say a more diverse selection that will allow any hunter to utilize there gear depending on there surroundings.

 Re: Sitka Gear
I went on a trip to Canada with a guy that works in their research dept. It's pretty nuts how you and I think it looks too bright or not a match for an environment, but from the sky it's another story. While a standard pattern mimics an eye level view that stuff is designed with thought of what it looks like 200' up in the air. All this said. Too expensive for my taste.
Guy said they went on a hunt in Mexico I believe and literally stood in middle of an open water pond and wore out birds "researching."
