 Hours on a yammmy 225 I have heard that there is a way to determine the hours on an engine by hooking it to a computer or some sort of device to determine it. Motor is a 2004 yamaha 225 EFI. I know the motor sat up for almost 6 years due to origional owner being very sick and suffered from a stroke. Cajun Outboards went through the motor and it runs like a top. Its strapped to a custom built 21'9" rocket that I have been working on.
Reason I ask, is I might be looking to sell it, but i want to get an hour count on it. origional family said the motor couldn't have 40 hrs on it. I've only used it a few times (actually use PD rig more). So I'm trying to get accurate hours.

Re: Hours on a yammmy 225 Yep, they can plug into it and tell you, just take it to a certified Yamaha mechanic.
