Post subject:  Old truck need lil help

I must bought a old 1983 gmc truck for a levee truck and I just did a brake job on it get to the landing and can't push the emergency brake in it the back brake are brand new. So idk where to start looking to fix idk if the cable is frozen or what any help would be appreciated

I just got home from the camp and it's raining so I can't really mess with it right now ima check that when it slacks off if it's not the cable what else could it be

Sounds like maybe the spring linkage is wrong or out of adjustment

My old first gen dodge did that one time and the stud on the back plate that the e brake hinges on had rusted up and wouldn't let the lever hinge. Something to check.

^^^ this..... And other than that check cable and the adjustment and make sure it's not to tight...

Emergency brake-if you don't use it you loose it usually
