Keep a watch on your bank account during the holidays. I had 4 separate charges come thru my bank today totaling 800$ to some vitamin company. Got hacked somehow.. Should be able to get it straightened out monday but keep a watch on your accounts.

There were some news reports about Target getting hacked between Black Friday and sometime recently. My wife shops Target A LOT! Called my bank and just cancelled that one debit card. It was our primary spending account. Bank said I didn't need to cancel mine because only the MasterCard accounts were compromised, so far. Told her I still wanted to cancel my Visa debit card and get a new one. Tells me it's going to cost $5 in a tone that suggested that $5 was really going to break me. I told her $5 was cheap insurance.

They tried to get me on 3 different charges totaling $180. I had an email when I woke in the a.m. stating suspicious activity on my account and they had already cancelled my card.

My Visa debit got hit for $1800 in purchases on the 20th. Fraud dept caught it, but the odd thing is that I only use the card at Kwik trip or purchases at Farm and Fleet.

I had someone but $100 worth of British pounds (and the transaction occurred overseas) about two weeks ago. I had to file a fraud claim, but they did remove the charges.
