Figure out what 90 weighs per sq/ft and estimate the sq. Footage of the pirouge to get your weight

This is one I built for my self. Its out of .090. Never actually weighed it, but feels to be about the same as any decent glass pirogue of the same size, I can pick it up over my head by myself.

Post Re: Aluminum pirogue's
It's 14'. Should be about 24" wide in the middle and about 12" side, I built it all out a 4' sheet just like I would have a plywood one.
I built a couple when I did this one and had sold them. Havnt done one in a while. I made some full size patterns when I lofted this one out. First one took me a while to build and figure out. I didnt want one that looked aluminum I wanted tradinial looking lines. I would say I could build you one, but between the boat builds if have lined up, hunting season, and my real job, it would take me forever to get around to it.

Not to Ninja the thread but to add to this, weight wise. Between the two (alum vs fiberglass) which is lighter. I too am looking for one. But I also want to know if anyone has applied gatorglide to a pirogue and did it make a difference.

Here is one I built before I painted it. Specs are as follows

Material .090 5086
Length, 13'
Width at bottom, 24"
Width at top, 30"
Rake at each end, 2"

Weight, 51 pounds

It is fast, light, and easy to paddle, pole or drag. I like it and have hunted out of it many times.

I should add I do not know which is lighter, aluminum vs fiberglass. I do know which is more durable though, the aluminum one. Also I did not put a stiffener of any type in the bottom of mine. It is plenty stiff without it and saves some weight.

Lightest one we have is 37 lbs.
A glass pirogue is so much quieter.

That's probably the best looking metal pirogue I've seen, great job on the lines. Definitely has the wooden look you were after.

What I'm looking for is a hybrid between the two. I can't tell the rake on Goosies so that's why I say hybrid. Capt's rake on Goosie's 13' hull. Add 1/2" round bar along gunnels and seat edges and then we're talking. We used to have one at work, I have no clue who built it, but would like one for myself. Somebody shoot me a price. I'm in no rush. I have a glass rogue now, but would prefer an aluminum to shave weight in the LT.

Capt JJ, I believe u can sell a bunch of those, just on the look alone. I don't need one, but I would buy one like that.
