Night shifts are bad enough for contemplating your own mortality in the wee hours of the morning but tonight we get in and find out that our crew contractor lost his 3 month old baby. I couldn't think of anything harder to deal with than the loss of a child... His wee fella hadn't been well but was on the uphill. Might have to raid the frezzer and drop around a care pack of sorts. |

You guys look at this a lot differently. I went to catholic school till 10th grade. Went to church twice a week. Now I am as atheist as they come. My daughter had a murmur at birth and I said my first prayer in probably ten years. I prayed "god if you are up there and are for real. If you take my child I will personally crack you right in your fukn jaw". True story. You can move it to the badass thread if you want. Walker that sucks. Situations like that you don't know what to say and it will be ackward. My theory is that shitt happens. Sometimes science is on your side and sometimes it isnt . I hope they can have more kids to help get them threw this. If this is god working in mysterious ways than he is a warped being. My opinion so please to not burn my house down. Also wanted to add that my daughter attends catholic school and I go along with the whole god thing because I want her to decide if she is going to stay a catholic or not. |

Prayers for your mate. I cannot imagine. But even when my grandfather was in his 90's, he said that he hoped he would die before his last child (my dad). He said he could not bear to bury another child. He buried his wife at 32, and two children. He buried 5 brothers and sisters and he was the oldest. You could tell it was rough on him. But he kept a good outlook. Was a prayerful man. But even at that age it was very tough. So I can only imagine when your child is just very small but I know it is tough at any age. Trousertrout, prayers for you and family too. Keep searching, God will reveal himself and his son to you. God does not make those bad things happen. He uses the bad things though so that other people become extraordinary in some way. |

Thanks guys. I'm not sure why that news affected me quite as bad as it did. I know it shook up most of the crew. I was in the door way of the office when we got told and one of the older guys just walked out of the meeting and called me into the hall. He asked if I wanted to get home early to see my kids get on chirstmas morning, he never stopped for an answer and carried on to tell me get my work done and he would take over my pot line so I could leave. |
