Louisiana friends help! We stayed in a hotel in Houma for the Montegut mud run and we brought home bed bugs. We don't have these bugs in Texas, so I can't figure out how to get rid of them. We googled it and followed most of the instructions with no avail. I took the bed completely apart and treated every single component with some bed bug treatment from Lowes. I removed the carpet from our bedroom and treated the entire room. My wife took every garment, blanket, pillow, etc and treated, then cleaned. After cleaning, she ran them through dryer and immediately put hot clothes in sealed garbage bag. The internet said the heat trapped in the bad kills bed bugs. These damn things are still biting us and we can't see them in the bed! We have sores with blisters all over our legs and last night they bit me on the head. I'm done, please help! How do we get rid of these killer LA bed bugs?!?

What hotel?!?!?

Sorry about that, man. I had this happen once after staying at a bed/breakfast in Natchitoches. Throw away your suitcases and any duffle bags you brought with you. Basically, what you brought into the room, get rid of it. Luckily, I figured out the bites before I got home.

Now, go throw away your mattress and box spring. Rip up your carpet and put wood floors down. Put your house on the market and buy another one!

Call the hotel and ask if they'd had any similar complaints recently. If so, make them send an exterminator to handle it!

We stayed at Comfort Inn & Suites. My wife is calling them now to see if they will send an exterminator. My next option is to burn it down like Will said!

Hell, there are so many chemicals around south louisiana anything still living down here is already immune to pesticides. Burn that mother down and get some insurance money.

rubberduck, sorry this happened 2 you. i have seen on the show infested where people had bed bugs and no exterminator could kill them all. one lady cleaned out the house still couldnt killem. the only thing they said on the show that would kill them all for sure is heat treatment. a truck with some kind of heater runs a duct into house and heats the entire house to about 180 degrees i think. this might be some tv BS i dont know. they said after spraying they keep coming back because they were inside furniture so spray couldnt get to them. good luck and i hope you get rid of them ok.

Luckily they haven't spread yet, they're only in our bed. My kids have zero bites and they're not allowed in our room right now. I slept on the couch for two nights and didn't get a bite. Last night I slept in bed and there's bites all over me. They're contained to my bedroom so I've literally put a gallon of bed bug killer in my room.

Go see the doctor. They will prescribe an ointment to rub all over you and keep on 12 hours. Probably a steroid too.
That will fix you.
Treat your luggage you had in hotel room with flea and tick spray outside or throw it out. Wash sheets and bedding in HOT water with borax. Treat mattress with flea and tick spray. Sprinkle borax on carpet and leave it down a day or two before vacuuming.
Get to the Doc, it gets worse.
Good luck and please don't ask how I know this.

That sucks man. Sounds like you need to cover yourself in chemical and crawl in bed for a nights rest. Repeat for a week or so and bet that would take care of it!
Seriously though. Hope you get it figured out.

Try some DE ( diatomaceous earth ) dust the whole room wear a respirator while doing it and you won't have to worry about having pesticides sprayed in your house.

Went to the doctor and got some steroid shots :D
Exterminator said he would be here tomorrow to scope it out
Hotel manager will not return calls, but corporate said they gave him 72 hours to handle the situation.
We cannot find the bugs anywhere so they think we just have a few of them (fingers crossed)
They tend to congregate and leave poop trails and we don't have any of that yet.
