 Power Pole question
How did ya mount your power pole to the transom? Bolted directly to the transom or used a offset type braket? Thanks for any input.

 Re: Power Pole question
Usually there is a bracket that goes between the motor and the transom but this is also on a bass boat maybe someone has it with a SD can show some pics.
I just googled it and it look likes on aluminum boats they are mounting them straight to the transom.

 Re: Power Pole question
Correct, I've seen them before but never really paid attention to how they where mounted to the transom. Hopeing someone has a picture of how the offset bracket is mounted ( on a mm). After searching the bracket online they are all mounted to the motor or jack plate. If mounting directly to the transom it would have to be placed well to the outside of the transom to clear the motor while turning sharp. Again any help would be appreciated.

 Re: Power Pole question
I had a pair on my bass boat a few years ago. Although the brackets were a must for mounting on a bass boat they also were designed to give a little so that when waves or current pulled or pushed on the poles the bracket would keep from tearing shit up. I would mount on the bracket if I needed them on my rig.

That's like driving through the hood and seeing $5,000 worth of wheels and tires on a $500 car...

 Re: Power Pole question
I have two of them on my flats boat. I originally had one mounted to the transom but when I added the second one I decided to mount them on offset brackets. In my opinion the offset brackets are the way to go because you can do away with them, change them to a newer model or change the angles etc. Repairing holes in the boat is a pain in the ass!

 Re: Power Pole question
the motor clamp brackets are just to keep from having to drill anymore holes through the transom...it just sammich's between the motor and transom giving you a mounting point for the powerpole.

 Re: Power Pole question
I plan on having one on my next boat. They're extremely useful fishing where there's a current like we do in the river. I don't really get the need for dual poles on an aluminum boat though. I'll be using the bracket that goes under the engine mount.
