 new motor.
going to purchase a new mud motor this week. I have searched and searched, but still torn I have narrowed the list down to these two options. copperhead 12 with the lct engine or the copperhead 14 with the kohler 14hp…
the motor will go on a flat bottom alumacraft 1436. looking to get the best speed/load carrying ability.
any advice, or review of someone who has ran both would be helpful thank you.

 Re: new motor.
I had the 12 lct it was a fast motor and worked well, also I think I remember some one on here saying the lct was a faster engine than the 14. With that being said the 14 is a higher quality engine in that it will last a long time. I've seen a bunch of guys having problems with the lct

 Re: new motor.
After careful consideration. I called and spoke with the company LCT has revamped the design of the engines and complaints are minimal at the time; over a year since the remodel of engine. I decided to go with the 12hp for two reasons: 1- copperhead recommended it over the 14. 2- it has remote fuel option.
Now on to the service thus far. Top notch is all I can say. It was the most informative and easy sale of a product ever. Josh was more than happy to answer all my questions and wasn't trying to rush me off the phone or to a sales department. I will post an in depth review once the motor arrives.
Thank you for your responses.
