Any of you guys know where I can find one, or have you guys ever built one? There was something that was close that was mounted on the fron of a skiff that cut lilies. I contacted these people and it was designed for lilies only, not muck and mud and ditch cutting. The ones that we have used in the past, and I mean a long time ago, looked like a lawnmower on its side cutting ditches. Need to build one or get one. |

Any ditch dug to a pond like that in our area would have to be zig zagged a ton cause if it wasn't and strait it wouldnt hold water with the first breeze from the north. |

There is a guy in Lake Charles who has a machine that clears trails, his name is Billy Gage. I can get his # if you are interested in hiring him. |

Thanks for all the replies guys. Were gonna go out there fri and see what we can do. The issue may be the ground below it. In the marsh, you can cut up the grass mat and there really is no bottom. Were not rock hard sandy bottom, but were not that soft either. So its whether or not the cutter will be able to cut it with the bottom nat as soft. Don't want to tear his shit up. |

Careful man. We had land locked ponds on our lease. Alligators have opened up sloughs over time. They are now tidal and silting up bad. They went from 2ft of water on normal tide to 1 ft normal. Now just a regular tide they're bone dry. Add a north wind to the equation and they're unhuntable. So with that said I wouldn't make it tidal. |

Tide effects us regardless. Were off the atchfalaya river. Out lease fluctuates about 1-1.5' of tide. But we have a few holes that are completely surrounded by trees, 1 or 2 ways in and out. Could set up a something to keep in, but I'm still effected by it. We have a connection to get a lease on continental land and fur for next year in the marsh. Hopefully it plays out. |
