Yes. Both had wrecks , frog was hit and ran over by an inexperienced air boat operater . Justin hit a pylon . Both had boat damaged. Both broke pelvis/ hips .

Hope both guys heal up quick!! Piss poor time for these guys to get run over and wreck boats. I saw a pic of frogs boat and it looked like a hard impact.

Frog good! Little busted up but will be back. Gfowel was with me and got launched as well. He faired better but I worry about his leg. Please keep him, Dixie and his wife your prayers too. Dixie took a beating in his boat too. My hip is pinned together and I should get out tomorrow. Like Huck said a airboater came into a heavy covered trail moving way to fast and we met in a hairpin turn, he panicked a pushed his rudders turn head on into us. I had a flag flying high but doesn't keep stupid away. The guy was just learning to drive an airboat and thought it would be a good idea going in blind at 30 plus mph. Fly a flag, slow down and go home to your family. My seasons over, I'm going to try and catch the end. Going back to sleep now All the prayers are much appreciated, means a lot, thank you Godspeed

Wow Dave.... this is the first I heard about the wreck. Glad to hear you are not banged up worse than you are. Sounds like it could have been a lot worse. Did it happen on Lake O?

I have been talking about adding a flag because I run those trails all the time. Thursday I am finally putting it on there! Wish the rest of the guys would do the same but I know most of them won't. Hope you feel better soon Frog

Get well soon Frog, Gfowel, and Dixie. Just got off the phone a while ago with Frog. He sounds like he's hanging in there. He's a tough old coot.

That said: It's baffling to me how many mud boats in FL don't run marsh flags on Lake O. They are required in the Marsh Access Areas in the Everglades for everyone, and required for airboats regardless of location, but not for anyone else. I've seen bass boats run these trails at over 40mph. Please, if you don't have a flag, get one.

I know Frog's flag didn't prevent this accident, but I can tell you 100% truthfully that my flag probably saved my and/or my wife's life in September. An airboater saw the flag and came off plane as I was slowly breaking into a trail. Without it, it would have been very ugly.

My buddy just got the lighted LED whip; I have a an ACR C-strobe zip-tied to mine. We are going to see which works better.

These aren't cheap but aside from a lifejacket or kill switch, it's probably a lot more likely to save your life than a bilge pump if you operate in trails with airboats or bass boats.

A 10' two-piece whip with an agle bracket and mount is about $170
A hardwired, 12V lighted one that you can run to your nav lights is about $100 more.

Got to say my cottonmouth boat did well and probably saved our lives. The pointed bow punched a hole in the bow of the airboat keeping it from running straight over us. It was a big car motor alumitec airboat. Bent the front end of that boats hull and upper deck after punching through 1/2" poly. Don't have a good pic of the airboat yet.

Take it easy and don't over do things when you get to feeling a little better. Let it heal up right. You will have enough aches and pains associated with it from now on without anymore complications. Hang in there and don't get hooked on those damn pain pills. I have known several people who's lives have been ruined by them. Stay strong and get well.
