 Re: EFI Band wagon
The band wagon is now boarding, plenty of good seats left no need to push. Come one come all, lovers, haters, on the fencers. The band wagon welcomes everyone and anyone. Yes you knew it was coming but you clung to your carburetors with the death grip of a true martyr, I applaud you, but it’s here and it is going mainstream. You can either come voluntarily or be dragged kicking and screaming in the face of progress.
I cannot promise you a smooth ride, all roads have some imperfections but it will be an interesting, thought-provoking and stimulating journey as the transformation happens. You my friends stand on the cusp of this technology and possibly the greatest thing to happen to mud motors in the history of history. Savor the moment take it all in and then climb aboard, your amongst friends.
Worried about the potential cost? Well let me put it this way – you’re already on this site so you have more money than common sense. With your initial investment (yes I said investment) in your mud motor you are already hind end deep on a 9 foot Indian into it, one more step isn’t that much more to take. That step will be the one you take boarding the band wagon.

 Re: EFI Band wagon
I will be jumping on this wagon at the end of Feb. Going to get the GTR25. Not sure if I'm going to go with the new 2015 lower or the 2014 lower. The 2015 is all one piece (shaft, skeg, and reverse plate) $900. The 2014 skeg can be replace for $60. So I am on the fence on which lower to go with. I run mostly rock and hard bottom so thats why a replaceable skeg would benefit me.

 Re: EFI Band wagon
I may be ordering at GTR25 in February. My one concern is the 2015 lower is all one piece and the 2014 lower is not and the skeg can be replaced for $60. Trying to decide which I want to go with beings I run hard bottoms and rocks mostly. $60 is alot easier fix than a $900 lower replacement if I crack or damage the skeg on a rock.

 Re: EFI Band wagon
The band wagon is not judgmental, doesn’t require a GPS speed screen shot or dyno graphs, as a prerequisite to thoroughly enjoy your experience.
These items are demanded by yet not provided by non-believers. It will however forgive all transgressions and remember time heals and time forgets you will have no regrets once on board. You my friends stand poised in this story, to be one of those that chose to be the point of this spear as it is thrust into the next chapter of mud motors.

The corporate and company policies that prohibit the publishing of said documentation is not what the band wagon is about. We all have rules that we must adhere to while accepting compensation in order to improve our situation in life. The band wagon will respect what rules and limitations you have imposed upon you.
With having said all that – welcome aboard, the ride promises to provide all the intrigue, action and adventure any MM operator can expect and then some

The band wagon will provide that and a lot more my friend, like silky smooth throttle response thru all ranges and better fuel efficiency.
The band wagon is not just a ride it is pioneering journey into the known and unknown.

I'm seriously leaning towards jumping on...It's not my style to run anything stock so I gotta mod my stuff at least a little so I'm looking at biting the bullet and adding the Pro Drive EFI to the motor I order

 Re: EFI Band wagon
The freedom to choose our course in life is a right we all have. The band wagon will always be a welcoming and nurturing safe haven for all free thinkers and truly free spirits. You will always be amongst friends on the band wagon and your opinion and feelings will be appreciated. The choice is yours and you are welcomed like a friend as you board the band wagon.
You don’t need to be a EFI owner/operator to board the band wagon, the band wagon welcomes all.

Am I still the only one on the site with the Briggs EFI? Does that make me the tip of the factory EFI spear? I always liked playing just the tip...

 Re: EFI Band wagon
Man has always looked at the internal combustion engine and wondered – what can be improved? Since the first time someone attached a mikuni to a MM operators have looked for the next logical progression in this evolutionary progression, and it’s here now with EFI.
The current limitations and boundaries of EFI will not only be explored but conquered. What is being limited is thinking and ideas, are you going to be part of the cure or part of the disease. With that all I can say is welcome aboard.

No no no, that’s not what the band wagon is about. It’s more than that - it’s enlightenment it’s stepping into the light that is progress, knowledge and empowerment and basking in it.
The next renaissance in thinking, as it applies to lawn mower engines that are pressed into service as a MM power plant.
Welcome aboard!

 Re: EFI Band wagon
If it's anything like the airboat world get ready for a lot of trial and error. Wires don't like salty air and a lot of vibration. Don't get me wrong I like the idea but I'm sitting on the sidelines until this is a proven thing. I'm not being the test dummy again. Id much rather carry a tool box with a few tools than a computer to diagnose a problem in the field.

 Re: EFI Band wagon
I think efi is awesome , that being said I have never been stranded by a carbed motor. I have however been stranded by a fuel injected airboat twice , my own mercury outboard once and my friends yamaha. Several times I had to rescue my friend in his injected kawasaki 29. Two weeks ago i tried to start my 23gdlt at the ramp in Merritt island, motor wouldn't turn over because the battery was dead. No problem, two pulls on the ripcord and off we went, never would happen with efi. Fuel injection is cleaner, more efficient , better running but there is no middle ground. It is either running perfectly or your stranded . As if now I'll still take a carb on a mud boat . If your up north or in high altitude I understand the need for it but down south I can't see the benefit. A well tuned carb runs just as good as fuel injection down here.

 Re: EFI Band wagon
all very good points and concerns - but how do you pull start a 35/36/37 big block? My buddy has a EFI snowmobile that is pull start one pull to pressurize the system and another pull it starts, it is far from a new machine.
The logic of having to keep your Snap-On scanner or laptop on board is a reasonable concern - go check the trunk of your car or cab of your fuel injected truck is there a scanner? Depending on the system you choose there is a simple "check engine" light that flashes 1-2-3-4-5 times, my EFI would not start for me once at the ramp in the dark - however the check engine light would flash once telling me there was no crank signal a quick inspection found my man over board kill switch was not completely engaged even thou the little clip was on the button.
Tuning and keeping a carb tuned to current fuel, load and weather conditions is a skill 85-99% of us do not have and is rapidly becoming a lost art. The ECM which is whether we admit it or not, smarter than most operators and does the thinking for us as it pertains to fuel mixture.
welcome aboard - the band wagon embraces you!

 Re: EFI Band wagon
Also, know that the prodrive ecu has a "limp" mode in case you were to have some type of failure. It allows the engine to run a idle to get you back to the ramp.
