Post Best (cheapest) way to ship a full rig to west coast?
I'm jealous of the variety of rigs and custom boats that come out of LA. Wish I could fly out there and drive one back to CA, but that's not in the cards. Can anyone recommend the best option get a full setup (boat/motor/trailer) from LA to CA? Does Uship handle that sort of thing?

U- ship was the cheapest one i could find to bring a boat to Canada. But it was still more money than I wanted to spend. I ended up going down and picked it up myself and still saved money over trucking costs. Think of it as a payed vacation to get your boat.

Where are you located? I could just plan a hunt/vacation and bring it. Thinking of taking the family out west again. Could drive instead of fly.

I did a sample request on the usip website and the estimated cost was about $1500 from Loreauville to California. That's shipping boat, motor and trailer. There must be a dealership in California unless EPA restrictions make it impossible to sell there.

Cheapest way would be set up a hunt and hunt a few days with a few local guys. heck you will be driving right by my home town. i could put you up and take you hunting a few days and make the trip a hunting trip and then when you leave grab ya boat and head home.

Just checked. There are no dealers West of Texas. If I were you I'd just buy the motor and have it shipped in a crate. I'd have a local custom builder build a hull to one of the proven specs. Buy a local trailer. You'd have a complete rig in about 10 weeks or so. Any way you look at it, it's gonna be cost prohibitive to have a complete rig shipped to you.

This... or buy a few to haul back yourself and become a dealer.

Becoming a dealer would be encouraging competition!

I like the idea of coming back there for a hunt the best, I appreciate the offers. Hell, mebbe I could finally talk BB outta one of them pretty PD skegs!

Seriously, there's not much out here in the way of mud rigs let alone a hull builder with any clue. You guys got it going on in spades!

What about Gator Trax? They will ship a complete rig to quite a few Bass Pro Shops. Looking on their website there is 1 in CA. Its flat rate $550 for them to ship. That's the route I went because there isn't much in the way of builders here in Maryland either.

I also checked on uship, and got a bid (just for the hell of it for you  ) for 585 for them to ship it, and they said it would take them 5 days to get it to me.

Not too bad to me.
Im in la, and i put in San Diego as a destination.
