I used the search feature but could not find what I was looking for. Wanting to install some slim LEDs under my rear bumper and splice into my reverse lights. It would be handy for some dark ramps. I had seen it on here a long time ago, but was unsuccessful in my search.

Really easy to do. Set your parking brake and put the truck in reverse with the key on but not the motor cranked. Get a test light and find out which wire I'ds powering your reverse light then tap I to the wire for power and ground the other wire to the bumper.

I have a pair of lights off a cab/chassis truck that has reverse lights built in. I planned on putting LED bulbs in them and mounting them on my trailer for dark ramps. Not necessarily just for the truck but I've seen it done and they work well.

As far as for the truck. My last truck had a pair of el cheap-o fog lights mounted on the frame rails about 2' behind the bumper and u used the trucks reverse lights to operate a relay and turn them on when the truck went into reverse. It worked great and you couldn't see them unless you laid on the ground under the truck.

I put some LED lights on the trailer itself and wired it to a 7-pin round connector so they come on when I shift into reverse. Super easy to do. I used these Tuff light LEDs

I've been looking at LED lights for the boat trailer and my enclosed trailer. I am going to run them off a switch though. For me they aren't always necessary and when it's so dark they are needed, having a buddy with a flashlight never seems to cut it.

I suggest you wire to a dash switch not your reverse lights.

1. You don't want to blind people in the Walmart parking lot.
2. I use mine to light up when unhooking straps & getting ready to launch
