I posted this in a thread talking about the Biloxi Marsh WMA, but then I realized this is something that needs to be out here where everyone can see it. I'm sure some of you reading this right now looked at the mentioned thread and thought...that has nothing to do with me - I dont hunt there. Guys, by the time your WMA is the one in the title it will be too late.......

Do not be fooled (if you know about the biloxi marsh wma) into thinking this is a SD vs. LT conversation.....its the tip of the iceberg that ends with neither one being allowed in places we all take for granted we can go to now......

I might be standing alone on this, but I would think that GoDevil, Prodrive, MudBuddy, Backwater and all of the other "mud motor" companies that make a living off of the people using these WMAs would stand up. Once that train gets moving, its going to be hard to stop!! We already know those tree hugging dolphin kissing libtards hate the fact we have guns and kill animals. They can't ban those, but this is a step in the right direction. And maybe I just see it from a pessimistic perspective, but I honestly feel that's the true motivation behind all of these... to just whittle away a little at a time.

These manufacturers and companies that WILL be affected need to stand up and organize some real research into the impact of mud motors on habitat. Stand up and organize the hunters and fishers buying your products to contact their representatives. I'm not asking them to foot the bill entirely, they worked hard for their profits and they deserve to keep them (sorry dean, that's America most of us love - but that's another conversation).

I don't even know where the Biloxi Marsh WMA is - - but it's one more freedom that is being stripped from us, the People, based on just one more regulation.

I 100% agree. It the constant chipping away that before we know it, what we now take for granted is gone and not coming back.

If I'm reading this correctly, you're unhappy about something and are requesting that someone else do something about it. If you want industry support, you need a real plan. Not just calling other people to action.

Nothing can be done about it. The owners of the land will not change the stance on this. The government has no choice but to comply. There is absolutely nothing that can be done about it. Well unless you buy the land from the owners

we bowfish all the time in that area, so they will be putting a stop to that, or at least trying to. I think its pretty shitty how we are the ones paying for it but yet say we cant have surface drives. f**k all that

I agree it is time to step up to the pump and be counted.

WMA's are too restrictive. If you read what you can and cannot do on them, you get the idea that you cannot open carry a weapon there outside of hunting season. But I say that everyone should be able to bring whatever weapon they choose to protect themselves from wildlife and from people looking to be wild. Just one point on the rules. Then we will soon have rules about size of motors mud motors.

WE really need to stop this crap. And a long with it the group needs to fight stupid laws of all types concerning outdoors and gun rights.

One thing that would help mud motors/rigs from being under the microscope would be to stop the joy riding! IMO a lot of the non-hunting joy rides (mud riding) brings a lot of heat down on the hunters/fishers that own mud boats.... Another idea would to try to keep to certain paths, not just running all over the marsh

Sounds to me like someone needs to read the lease and see what right the land owner still hold. Without that you can't develop an effective plain. Then if you run in the room with a good plain and raise hell you will get stonewalled. Image is more than important its imperative. If you don't take the approach of "what's best for the land and game" you will not get anybody behind you. I completely agree that if the public leases the land they should have access. But that doesn't mean sh!t if the lease does not provide. If it doesn't your only recourse is to vote the purse holders out. Compromise for mm and airboat access during the season only may bode well. If the lease is ironclad for public access your course is clear to to file suit against the state. But keep in mind you can't recoup attorneys fee from the state. Surly and hunting attorney in the area would take on the case pro bono, with maybe the hope of picking up work from those he's helped and the good of " all hunting man kind".

Are you really just becoming aware of this problem? NWRs already have a no air cooled engine policy. This problem began long before the Biloxi marsh.

There are several in LA. ONE south and one east of the Biloxi. There is a loud mouth ass in or around covington that complains the loudest. It's funny everything around him is going away from air cooled engines. Someone should take a Polaris engine and figure out a way to have a cooling system. That would mess with the air cooled guys. Probably hall ass too.

Big Branch (Lacombe) is pirogue only, I I have no problem with that because it's an even playing field.

Biloxi is saying you can use anything from a 300 hp outboard to a 16 hp air cooled longtail, just not a surface drive.
