Death and holidays

 Death and holidaysYesterday was Thanksgiving. Today is Cristmas. Tomorrow will be New Years. And so the holidays will continue until she passes. The mother of my daughter's fiancé is dying of breast cancer and they are celebrating each day she lives as though it were a holiday. They are chronicling this on facebook for all to see. It's a sad but beautiful thing. My daughter is strong. But I told her it was ok to cry.

Re: Death and holidays Well, she passed away peacefully early Sunday morning surrounded by her Son, Daughter, son in law, grandchild, my daughter, and friends. Just a few generations ago, death was witnessed by the family much more frequently than it occurs today where we tend to insulate the act of dying. I know my daughter has come away from this experience with a greater appreciation for and understanding of life. The poor soul died with such dignity and courage. She imparted much wisdom to many and was loved by all. She will be missed.
