Post new mower?
im in the market for a new mower and stuck between brands. Husqvarna, cub cadet , john deere. im wanting around the 46-50 inch cut deck. last one i had had a 23 vanguard intek and that son of a bitch locked up with no warning at all. kinda left a bad impression of those so im thinking of going with a kohler on my next rig or kawasaki is an option on the cub. what are your opinions.

Welded deck, not stamped. Kohler engine. Those are my two requirements.

I have a cub Cadet 48" zero turn with 210 hrs.
Commercial Deck, all welded.
and never did anything but change the oil on it.
Its got a 25 kholer.

Its a pretty good mower.
I was told i can expect around 1500-2000 hours out of this mower.

Pretty good IMO

If you go john Deere buy from a dealer not target they are lower end mowers built so a home owner can afford the same color a farmer enjoys but it's definitely not the same quality

I agree with calphil. I'm running a 60 in exmark LaserZ with a Kohler vertical shaft efi engine. Does the job! Ran a gravley many years ago and it was good as well.

Get yourself one of these bad boys. Toro 4500 D. Makes an 8 foot pass. I took it home and cut my little half acre yard once. All the neighbors looked at me like I was retarded.

I got a Toro 5000 with the Kohler engine. They also have a Kawasaki engine choice that was a few hundred more.

I had to buy a new lawnmower last year and went with a husqvarna with the 60" commercial grade deck got the 31 Kwai on back I love it, got enough room on the foot deck to put my ice chest, good for not having to walk back to house to get a beer

I work at a John Deere dealership and the quality ones start at an x300 and up as far as riding mowers. The one thing you should consider is service and parts cause eventually no matter what brand something will wear out or break then if theirs no parts network or service your stuck so there's something else to think about with your decision

I've got a Dixie Chopper, been having it since 2004 and only had to change the belts a few times and rebuilt one of the rear wheel motors. It's going on 11 years old and still has the same deck and bearings. If I buy another it will be a chopper. Been a great mower

I have a Scag and a Grasshopper. Have considering selling both and buying a new Grasshopper. As they sit now, you couldn't give me two Scags for one Grasshopper. Been very satisfied through the years.
