How do you position your motor?
Just was wanting to see how everyone else positioned their motor while trailering. Just trying to see the different ways y'all have out there that might help me and others from seeing their motor bounce around. Thanks guys.

We just tie from the skeg to the trailer corners. Motor doesn't bounce at all.

Re: How do you position your motor?
Just as so... On a big bump, the tiller will ease down slowly and back up but no matter what I've drug the trailer across so far it's never been harsh. that being said, I am planning on building something rigid to pin into the pad-eye on my floor to hold the handle while trailering and get rid of the rope and use conventional transom straps...

Re: How do you position your motor?
My flat bottom has handles on both sides of the transon. A 2" ratchet strap from handle to handle and thru one of the tooling holes on the upper fin of the LU. Tightened just enough to lock everything down. Doesnt bounce or swing an inch. And a red flag bungied to the prop for added visibility.

Re: How do you position your motor?
Back when I had a sport v I would hook a 4' chain to it and drag it behind the trailer wherever I needed to go

Re: How do you position your motor?
I put a block of wood against the transom of the boat, put the motor in reverse, and trim down. Works pretty good. But eventually I'm gonna get a transom saver from cottonmouth

Re: How do you position your motor?
I use the freaky expensive cottonmouth transom saver. I know it was over priced, but I like to support small businesses. Also, it works really well and I don't worry about trailering induced stresses. I'll note here that on the first rig (Prodrive 35 and Prodrive boat) the motor eventually over powered the transom and it had to be welded. So maybe I'm extra sensitive. The 160 for the cottonmouth was cheaper than the welding bill...

Re: How do you position your motor?
Secure the motor to your hull not the trailer. That way if the boat shifts, it doesn't put the motor in a bind.
