 Gun trust
Anyone ever set one up? Or have a link where I can learn a little more about them?

 Re: Gun trust
I can't prepare one for you as I am only licensed to practice law in Florida.
That said, I would recommend that you have a an attorney prepare a simple gun trust for you who is licensed to practice in the state you reside in. You should be able to have a simple NFA GunTrust prepared for $350 or so. You will have people tell you to prepare your own using Willmaker, etc. Don't do it. That software isn't designed for NFA items and that software most certainly will not correctly provide for a streamlined (or even legal) transfer of any assets should you or you wife pass away or become otherwise unable to legally possess NFA items.
If I were preparing one for you, I would set it up so that both you and your wife are Grantors/Trustees since (1) each of you will have access to the suppressor in the safe and (2) you both want to be able to legally possess/use the item. Depending on your persomalley relationship, children, etc., I would set up the beneficiary/ies of the trust in a number of different ways to meet your needs.
I won't make a nickel off this advice, but you're talking about a potential federal offense if you prepare it yourself. Don't do it. The cost to have a trust prepared is a drop in the bucket when you consider the cost of the items and tax stamps in exchange for the peace of mind and the transfer upon death.
Once you have your trust executed, the NFA/Class III dealer you purchase your item from will need a copy of your executed trust and should prepare the paperwork for you to send to BATF along with a $200 check to ATF. Even though you have paid in full for you item, the store will keep it until your paperwork/tax stamp comes back about six months later.
My advice is to buy the top of the line suppressor for whatever purpose you are buying it for. You will have six months to regret buying a middle of the line can before you can even take it home and you can't switch items once the paperwork goes in.
A top of the line rimfire suppressor is $400-$450.00. I would recommend either the Silencerco/SWR (they merged) Spectre II if you want to keep your first shot as quiet as possible and still have a can that's easy to maintain. If you don't care about the first shot being louder than the rest, the Silencerco Sparrow SS is the easiest to clean, high-end can out right now.
I hunt with mine so I do care about the first shot. In fact I only plan on taking one. So I have a Spectre II.

 Re: Gun trust
I'm 20 right now, will be 21 in a few months. Is there anything I can do to start my gun trust now so I can have it ready when I'm 21? What about sending off for the tax stamp before you are 21?

 Re: Gun trust
Interesting TGunn, thanks for sharing the advice/information. I live in Florida, do you execute these for anyone living in Florida, or do you prefer they live in your area?

Anyone in Florida, Krogers. Shoot me a PM and we can get together. We can take care of everything via e-mail and a couple of phone calls.

 Re: Gun trust
That's an awful lot of work to take the crack out of a .22.
My kids bought me my last .22 silencer no license needed was like 35-40bucks
I could see it being a worthy investment if you wanted to take the smack out of a Barrett or purchase a full auto.

 Re: Gun trust
It's a pain in the ass but at least they can still get stuff like that. In Canada we can't even own any of the cool gun stuff. It's so stupid here. I can go buy a 50 cal rifle but not a suppressor or hand gun under 4" in barrel length.? W.t.f.?
