I don't know which is "best"', but I'm about to pull the trigger on the two piece one that gator trax is making. Looks extremely sturdy with the collar in the center, and can be compact enough to fit in a gun box. I would personally stay away from the telescopic poles |

I've got one I made from an old pole vault. Light weight and solid. Also if I ever get stuck I can use it to hop over to land. |

I may just build one like the GD. I'm thinking 1/4" plate aluminum for the foot and a 1.5" diameter .125 piece of aluminum for the handle? For anyone that has the GD pole does this seem right? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Order the foot from GD and while you're on the phone ask what tubing they use. I believe .125 would be thicker than what mine is. It's pretty lightweight |

I have a telescoping pole I got from cabelas, I can't remember the name of it but it's octagon shaped and it's seriously worthless. I ended up only paying $6 for it after I had free shipping a $75 gift card and a coupon code I found online. Whatever brand it is don't buy it ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Shoot the best push pole I got stands in the front of my boat. She pushes off and out and around good, and she don't gripe or complain. |

A closet pole with a half of a softball- drilled, gorilla glued and screwed to the end. I'm in it less than $15 with paint and it floats. it's a thing of beauty. It's also quiet when it rubs/bumps the boat. |

The Cajun Superstick that Cabelas sells is awesome. Just depends on the length you need. Lots of good 12' options, not as many 18' options. |

I've built several out of 1" schedule 80 and 1/4x2 flat and people have been happy with them. A couple have been used to pry boats off of mud flats and are still being used. |

I have used an 18 foot Stiffy Fiberglass push pole for years. Cost me @$300 about 15 or so years ago. It gets heavy and only being 18 foot requires you to do more lifting. Stiffy Hybrid, minimum 20 foot would be my next one. |

I'm not gonna be using my push pole for fishing. Mostly just positioning the boat (I really don't know how much I'll use it with reverse on the new boat) but I'm thinking 12' should work for what I need. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I rarely ever use one in my duckboat.... only flats fishing. I have an extendable aluminum pushpole in the duckboat. Had it for @18 years I think. |

I use mine often for all those of stuff. I had a flathead run my line around a stump about 8 feet down and got tangled in another old line couple years ago, finally took my push pole and twisted it up in the line until it broke then pulled the fish in with it. |

Twelve foot aluminum swimming pool net handle. Been working for me for over 20 years. (Drive a one-foot length of closet rod in each end to close it off; makes the pole float, give something comfortable to grab, and don't need a "foot". |
