Think its gonna kind take a short novel to ask my question but would really like yalls opinions / advice.

Ok so frog gigging on a paticular lake we hunt, when we start going in approx april every year. When were looking for frogs we use small led head lamps to shine for their eyes when we get close to were we hear them. So question is i hear people talk about shinning for them and seeing the yellowish underside of them aka making it a lot easier to hunt them. So what causes them to sit higher out of the water? Temperature, time of year, weather, moon? And ive seen them plain as day while hunting on the river while they are on the banks but in this paticular open veggitated lake its a little different.

Hopefully you can understand what im asking, if not let me know and i will try to clarify.

Thanks
Tanner

If they are perched high you can see their belly, but the white eyes are the give away. Try a brighter light. Sometimes in vegetation you will only see an eye.

Get better lights. I don't look for eyes, you'll learn to see their chins a mile away.

yeah may have to try a diff light. Was just curious to where as if they sat higher in the grass certain times of the year. Cause a lot of times you WILL not be able to see their bellies / throat what so ever.

I catch a lot with just their eyes sticking up in the grass. Then I throw them in this handy trap door with a laundry bag hooked underneath.2738.jpeg
