Anyone running one on their Prodigy tell me how you like it? It can be any boat for that matter. Want to get one to hold the boat steady while fishing the tidal creeks here in Jax. Fighting the trolling motor gets old. Also how do you have the mounting bracket mounted onto the hunt deck and with that fastening hardware. Thanks.

Your best friend. Cheaper and less can go wrong. I've used mine in 15ft of water. I have a stainless 5ft. You can get them at academy or order one.

Definitely want a remote spud pole. I have 2 spud poles on the boat and a push pole but want to have the micro anchor so I can stop the boat immediately via button and not have to run around with spud poles.

I've sold quite a few of them, for a small boat they are great and havent heard a complaint about one yet.

This is how I've been installing them on Prodigy's that I sell.

BoatDR,

That is the look I was going for.... I just am worried about the spike clearance with the poling platform that hangs over the hunt deck some... Ill just have to bust out the 4 foot level and check my clearance. I guess I could off set the micro anchor towards the port or starboard side more, but you think that might cause the boat to pivet more once anchored?

Depending upon how strong of a wind or current that you are in, the boat is goint to pivot no matter what.........that is unless you put 2 of them on the back.

As far as clearing a poling platform, I have made brackets that hang off the transom to attach power poles and talons to, and other than some welding/painting, it is no big deal. Just extend it far enough to get the anchor to clear the platform.........Your best bet is to buy the anchor and mock it up before you make any modifications to your boat, it may clear without doing anything.

I run two power poles on my flats boat so I have not used the Micro specifically, but having an anchor at the push of the button totally changes the way you fish. I will say that Power Pole has some of the best customer service around and they do a ton of R&D on their products. I have considered putting a standard Power Pole on but obviously they are a lot more than the Micro. Let us know how it works out if you decide to go with one.

I dont know how much the Micros cost or what trolling motor you have but have you considered a Minn Kota with the I-pilot? I have used the Spot Lock feature on mine quite a bit and love it

That's pretty cool. I don't have one but I like the idea that you can take the spike out of it if your not using it so it doesn't get in the way.

I may have to look into this for mine as well.

I second what boat DR. says about the boat swinging. Originally had one Power pole and it will swing in all directions based on wind and current. Frustrated me to no end which is why I added a second. I also agree about the I pilot, I love the idea of anchoring at the push of a button regardless of water depth but want to be able to control it like a standard motor when not in anchor mode. I spoke with two separate manufactures about it and they are a ways from being able to do both.
