Just curious, when you are out cruising in your boat, what RPMS do you run at? Do you always run wide open? I find that my boat is most comfortable around 3800 rpms and it cruises around 24-25 MPH. |

It's all relative I guess. My stock 23 tops out at 4100 and I'll cruise around 3600. Sent from my SCH-R950 using Tapatalk |

Run it how you feel is safe to your standards. These engines have 4700 coils, but most stock engines are lucky to see past 4300. Run it wide open trim it right and back off the throttle if you feel you want to. Otherwise run it hard if you need to. |

I was wondering the same thing...my 37 EFI 2054 PD I typically run at 4000-4250 but WFO is 4250....is this about what I should expect? (Yes, I do run it at WFO quite a bit, but aren't these motors made for that??) |

A stock 35 hp briggs is made to make 35 hp at 3600 rpm. Do people have thousands of hours running more than that, yes. But i dont think theyre necessarily made to do it |

I'm just starting to get some tiller time on my 31GT. Top rpm is 4150 under a load. I'm finding 3850 or so to be a pretty comfortable ride, but it's hard to keep from squeezing that throttle! |

I normally run around at about 3800 rpm. When I get faster than that I start to get more engine noise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

When I was stock it was always WFO. Which was 36-3800 rpms. Now modded I can turn upto about 4500 but I keep it around 38-4000 runnin low 20s deep water. Comfortable cruising but more power when ever I need it |

I'm with T-Bubba on this one. If I'm running from point A to point B, it's either at idle or throttle pinned against the handle at WOT. Depending on which prop I'm running, this is either 4700 or 4500 with my current gearing. |
