It's crazy how cheap they've gotten in the last few years!

 Re: 52
Whats the quality of these light bars like? I had watched a video I wanna say a week ago or so of a guy who had maybe a 30" bar on a side by side and was comparing it to a smaller maybe 12 or 16" light bar mounted on an ATV; of which the smaller light bar was much brighter than the larger one... I wanna say the smaller one was made by cajun custom lights or something like that and the larger came from amazon... If youre gonna spend the money might as well get something that is actually bright vs the largest you can mount on a boat or vehicle ya know?

I'm still not sure all these companies aren't buying from China and just slapping their own name on em.
Think of the killing their making, buying for $60 and selling for $250.

I think if you buy an expensive light it probably is brighter and stronger but I'm not paying triple or quadruple the price for that.

 Re: 52
I don't understand why people with buy them! One of my buddies bought an Amazon 54 inch "spot light" bar for his truck and realistically has 350 yards of useable light output, and yet my Rigid 20 inch "flood" bar has the same amount of light distance and output. It's crazy how bad the quality of cheap ones are.

I have nothing short of abused my cheapo 24" light bar and it performs flawlessly. When it goes out I'm buying another just like it

I've heard as long as they have CREE leds then they're all the same.

Re: 52" LED lightbar. $70 shipped
Some of the cheapos aren't as good as some of the other cheapos. I've seen 7" bars out perform the 13" of the same brand. They don't always use the same reflector, if they run out of a batch, and that's what you're paying for. A 3 w Cree is a 3w cree. Where the difference lies is the heatsink and the reflector. The reflector is the magic unicorn blood. You don't pay rigid for a better led. You pay them for the R&D on the reflector and consistency with assembly and circuitry. The circuitry can sometimes have an effect, but usually they're pretty much the same as all those boards come off the same Chinese factory line. They're quite simple. Sometimes they'll put a higher resistance board onto the wrong lights, which makes them output less light than they could with the correct board. I have a pair of 7", and one is a hair brighter than the other at close range, but the dimmer one carries a bit farther cause the reflectors are malformed a little lol

 Re: 52
I have a couple of those "cheap" ebay lights and I have beat the piss out of them. I run one on my duck boat and it is one of the brightest lights I've ever seen. its the flood/spot combo light and it is more than adequate for my purposes and BY FAR the most economical..

Re: 52" LED lightbar. $70 shipped
I do find this convo a bit funny sometimes. The cheapo lights for the most part will last as long as the expensive ones. Where the issue usually lies is they aren't as bright for the same size (reflector being a major reason for this). What's I find funny is that how many of us over drive the lights we're talking about? On a truck/jeep/etc, ok. But on a boat that does 30ish mph? Nah. Not happening. With that being said, if you want to spend the extra few hundred, ok, no judgement from me. But for 80% or more of us, it doesn't matter which one we buy, because we don't actually gain any true usefulness from the better reflectors. We feel better, yeah, but is that feeling worth the expense? That's for each of us to decide. The above opinion does not address any use in bowfishing, as I've never bow fished or needed lights for said act.
