I have been going out to my shop a night and trying to get some wotk done. As I have gotten older my low light vision is wavering. I have decided I need some good overhead lights and a portable movable light.
What would you suggest and where would I get it.
Thanks a bunch!

I prefer fluorescent when I'm working on stuff, but the halogens have their moments. You can also get a couple smaller single lights to just set somewhere, cause some of them are on a small stand, not an extendable tripod.

If you go with fluorescent go with the high output ballets (T-5 bulbs). Or you can go with LED high bay lights.

If you buy any LED light just make sure it's the "scene lights" regular LEDs are way to bright and will blind you if the light is above you or behind you. I'd iust go regular fluorescents and do a couple 500W moveable halogen work lamps.

Get some t5 fluorescent fixtures. We've put lots of the most 4x2 fixtures with 8 bulbs per fixture in shops and i really like the light output. We buy them in bulk from farmtek.com here in Iowa.

I went with 2 24 ft rows of the t5 bulbs in my shop. They stop 4ft from the gable ends and there aren't any shadows.
