Uncle J is putting an aluminum floor down in my skiff as we speak and Im not a huge fan of the hydroturf. Have any of you used the Rustoleum truck bed liner that you roll on for the floor in your boat? It says it is paintable so im thinkin put a coat or two of that down then i will top it off with a lighter colored textured paint just for extra grip and to help reflect the heat. |

I believe this is what you're looking for. Same stuff express boats use on their interior. http://www.xtremeliners.com/chemical.html |

I was actually looking for something i dont have to order that is readily available at the auto parts stores. I looked at the herculiner and the rustoleum truck bed coatings yesterday. Also talked to a guy that has used it in his boat and said he loves it. Only thing he did was spray self etching primer first then put the truck bed coating and then painted it a lighter color than black. I dont know how much truth is in it but im going to find out this weekend. |

I used the duplicolor bed armor out of the can on my truck bumpers, I dented the bumper and didn't even crack or chip. Been on there five years now, the color will fade some(black). Application was on steel and plastic so cannot comment on Alum., but etching b4 should make it adhere. |

Thats what i figure. A good self etching primer then spray it down should be fine. Im going to let it cure for a week then im going to go over the top of it with a grey or something to lighten it up a bit and hopefully keep it a little cooler than black sitting in the sun. |
