Every year I tell my self i'm going to buy a good pair of gloves to keep my fingers from falling off but have yet to do so. I don't wear gloves while I hunt just when driving and picking up decoys and such. I've made due with "waterproof" gloves over the years but none are ever truly waterproof and in late season wet, cold, frozen hands suck. So what is everyone using? I'm looking for something waterproof, not too constructive and semi warm. They don't have to be for sub arctic temps just enough to keep the chill off and the water out. So what's yall's input??

A good set of neoprene for the decoys stuff, and a good set of goretex for driving. Neither has to be expensive. If you ever accidentally dip your hand too deep in the water, the neoprene dry inside fairly quickly, and you'll have a dry inside pair to drive with. Mechanix gloves work well too, as do motorcycle gloves.

I usually use a pair of the cotton gloves with the rubber grips on the palm and fingers when it's not raining, then put on the goretex type when it is or when it's cold (I actually have a pair of military gloves, will link later this evening).

I have a pair of Columbia gloves with the omni-heat reflective shit on the inside that I have had for 3 years. best damn thing ever. if it's below 25, I will wear a pair of cotton military liner gloves on the inside for the drive. I put out and pick up decoys alot with them, and if they get wet, I just put them inside the house or camp and they are good to go for the next morning.


Shit, almost forgot, I ha e a set of Dilute trading company winter waterproof gloves that are nice as well, both I can shoot with but prefer a naked finger as that is how I shoot in the military and always have.

Thank Russ. I pondered on a pair of leather British military gloves that I read about. I had some neo globes they just scratched the hell out of ya when it got cold. Almost want to just buy a cheap pair of rubber gloves for cleaning to try as a liner.

When it's cold, actually cold. I use a pair of the PVC gauntlet gloves with hand warmers in them for picking up decoys and anything that might get my hands wet. Then when driving and shooting, I switch over to a plain old pair of insulated leather gloves.

For driving I have cabelas northern flight gauntlet gloves or if it's real cold the northern flight mittens and I put a handwarmer in them. Also have fleece lined rubber (trapping) gloves for decoy stuff.

The Cabela's Seamless Decoy Gloves are what I use for setting and picking up decoys as well as driving the boat when the weather turns nasty!

6 seasons on the same pair and still in great shape

Last season I bought a set of water resistant snow mobile gloves for 35 bucks. They go about halfway up the forearm. They are very warm for driving and waterproof enough for picking up decoys so long as you didn't just dunk your hands.

I have a pair of the Academy Seirus gore-tex heatwave gloves. They're waterproof supposedly(never dunked my hands in water for long periods of time so idk) but they are 100% windproof and very warm. My hands are so long and thin that I have trouble with them staying warm below 40 degrees and they are easily susceptible to frostbite and those gloves keep my hands plenty warm. Last year we had a cold front that dropped the temperature to 16 degrees and I drove the boat with these gloves and my hands stayed warm and never sweat during the day. Now my face was a different story.. lol

I have some lightweight nylon gloves from Wally World that I use down to 30-35degrees, then a pair of wool gloves over that when it's colder. Rode motorcycles like this also in temps below 40 without a big problem. But my disclaimer: my hands have been cut and burned so many times with what I do for a living that much of the acute feeling is gone from my palms and down my fingers. That being said, I've got to mainly keep the backs of my hands warm and pay attention if they start getting stiff on me. Luckily it only ever gets "real" cold down here once or twice a year. Frostbite isn't an issue.

TT, got a pair of those that stay in my boat just for whomever the driver is. They get used a lot. Good gloves. I'm looking for my other gloves I promised a link to so I can figure out the brand. My brothers both have the Browning gloves that come close to your elbow. After borrowing them a few times I bought a pair and they are nice!
Friend also bought a pair of those big orange gloves you see on TV on fishing boats. Those jokers are warm!! See if I can find the name of them

Ive tried just about every glove possible in search of the best waterproof, warm, and mobile glove. After trying expensive gloves and cheap ones I've found the best glove for what you're looking for. Best thing is they are about $6 a pair. Warm, 100% waterproof, and I can actually use my fingers even so much I can load a gun and hunt with them. The best thing I have found for that is a pair of thin under armor gloves and decoy gloves over them. Decoy gloves block all the wind and the under armor gloves keep the warmth. If it's really cold you drop some hand warmers between the two

Atlas gloves.....no other words need be said. Commercial fishing gloves. Lined, waterproof, flexible and great grip.

Can't beat having a thin pair of wool gloves. If they get wet just wring them out and put them back on. I've never had any luck with a waterproof glove.

I have a pair of neoprene gloves that have the fold back index finger and thumb. I have used then at night, 28 degree weather picking up catfish jugs. they are warm. And it has to be cold you will sweat sometimes.

I'm actually at Cabral's now. I e got a pair of Midwest decoy gloves in the cart. They don't have their brand at the moment but foe $35 I'm gonna try these. I'm to the point in my life where I don't care how I look as long as my hands stay warm!

I just keep several pairs of gloves in my blind bag and rotate through them as they get wet. It's just nice to always have a pair of dry gloves when your hands are wet and freezing. Never found a pair of reasonably priced gloves that were actually waterproof.
I also have a pair of glommits for during the hunt but it's still a pain in the dick to pull the finger covers on and off.

Get a box of these and wear them under any gloves, wet or dry. They look stupid, but it's like bunny boots for your fingers. We wear them ice fishing and when processing deer when it's single digit temps.

Best I have found is icearmour. I prefer the extreme mitts but have a set of the ultra gloves as well.

I didn't take the time to read all the comments because I don't hunt with gloves on. So I'm not sure if they have been mentioned. But I really like my mechanix insulated gloves for driving the boat. Even at almost 50 mph my tiller hand stays warm, and I've made some 17+mile runs with them.

I wear those nitrile gloves all the time. They do make your hands sweat like a bitch.

I make long runs offshore in the winter and I have used almost every glove known to man, many of which were mentioned above by far the best for me they are these they are slim, waterproof, and warm.
