Im wanting a marine gps for my boat but have no idea what is good and what is bad. Im not looking to break the bank and Im not that worried about the sonar or anything... Is there a handheld gps that I could use for hunting and use it in my boat too? Any opinions would help |

Do a search on here. I started a thread last year wanting the same thing. I ended up with a garmin gps map 78 and I love it. Waterproof, floats, and is lightweight. I have Birdseye satellite imagery subscription and have loaded everything I need. It's basically Google maps. It's small enough to keep in my blind bag during hunting season and use on walk in hunts. Highly reccomend it. I got mine on sale from academy for 169 |

I am a big fan of the Garmin handhelds. However, I just recently purchased the Navionics app for my iPhone and it is pretty slick. One less gizmo to carry around. |

The Navionics app is defiantly the best 9.99 I've ever spent. Works off gps so it still works even when you don't have service, it will leave a track line and just about anything else you can do on a gps. The only down fall is it uses a lot of battery so make sure you have a way to charge it if you are depending on it. It is defiantly worth having for a backup if nothing else. I work on the water and wouldn't get in a boat without it |

I picked up an Oregon 650t on sale. Good unit. It's not the cheapest, but it works well. |

I've been reading up in the map 78 and I think that's what I'm going with. Been using my phone and it works good when the service is good. Spotty service and you better have a good memory. |
