I have a 36 pro drive with heads and carb done. I am running my 18x46 boat solid at 30.5 at 4600 rpm with my wife and two little ones. The motor feels strong and solid even at that rpm. Is this a safe range running my boat for 30 min plus at a time mainly during hunting season with 2 more guys and a load. Should I think about changing the prop out to bring the rpms down? Just looking to make the best decision to keep this motor in as best of working order as I can. Thanks in advance. |

I wouldn't, motor would probably last longer at a lower cruising rpm, say 3600-3850 rpm. Motor still has stock internals. Short burst of higher rpm only when needed to get thru some nasty stuff. |

Yes. I have had mine at 4800 for longer runs. I have also had this kawasaki at 4900 for 40 min straight. Both the briggs and kawi had stock internals. |

I have ran both my Briggs and kawasaki at 4700-4800 rpms for close to an hour, but they sure we're warm at the end of those runs, and that was in winter temps. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk |
