Anyone on here do it? If so how does one go about getting into competition duck calling? I think it's something I'd like to try but I don't have a clue where to start. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You go and enter a contest and practice alot. Talk to people. Make friends in the competetion world. I have a buddy that does it and that's how he got involved. He just started asking questions on boards dedicated to competitive calling. It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face. |

I did it for a while and won some local contests but nothing big. Been in ark, tn, miss and la. Takes a lot of dedication and big lungs. Start with meat calling then if you like it go to Main Street. I got all of my teachings from Butch at RNT. He was a good man and taught me a lot. We sat one evening and went through a box of MVP's trying to find one for me and ended up giving me one of his old calls. Mitchell if your serious let me know. I have a top notch RNT Original that is one of the best that I've heard that's great for beginner Main Street. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

People can say that other calls are better, they might be for their personal preference, but when it comes down to it RNT is the best. http://www.callingducks.com/calling_con ... stics.aspx Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

How can you say that RNT is the best? I like RNT, but that is just an opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

When it comes to competition North La is right. Them RNT boys know what they're doing. They've got more titles to their name than anyone, and John Stephens won the champion of champions this last year blowing an RNT. I love all my RNT calls, but I will also pick up a Hobo Prime meat just as quick.. Anyways, the best ways to get into it is to practice a lot at first. Watch youtube videos and try to model your calling styles to what the ones that have won world championships do and try to mimic them and pick what style you like best. Then I'd start worrying about trying to get into competitions after you've got good at competition style calling (however here lately things seem to be getting back to who is the most "ducky" and not who can blow the longest hail call with the most notes and feed chatter mixed in). Most local DU or Delta waterfowl banquets will have info on them, and there are quite a few guys on this site that do it. |
