I've raced karts since I was 4, and ran a business building motors the last 10 years.
Trail and mud ride every chance I get.
And bring my two kids along every step of the way.

Fishing, sex, Me and my wife like the sex. Welding shit sometimes. Carpentry. The last one is just because I can't afford to have someone else renovate my house and I'm good at it. Fine whiskey. I would ingest lots of marijuana if I worked a job that didn't test for such things, as far as hobbies for pure enjoyment and not labor skills. Fishing and hunting and my wife and kid are all I got. And I enjoy them alot. I used to be into motorcycles. Hopefully again one day... I guess I write. I'm a decent writer. I write my wife dirty stories where her and I are the characters, to read while I'm at work, that way when I get home she's all hot and bothered. It's made her more open to sexual exploration amongst her and i

It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face.

Fishing with my kiddos has become my hobby the past year or so. I've hunted, fished, and messed with guns my whole life but always had other hobbies as well. Drag raced and built engines for a number of years on the side and own a couple antique motorcycles. They haven't been ridden much in recent years but I used to put a lot of miles on them. I really enjoy working on old things in general, tractors, small engines, machinery. I guess you could call me a "tinkerer" I'm a mechanic by trade which I really do enjoy and it seems to always bleed itself over to my hobbies.

I play guitar pretty good and have a decent little collection of guitars. Played off and on in a couple of small bands here and there.
I have been fooling with taxidermy more and more in my spare time, think its something I might could get serious with

Used to shoot sporting clays competitively. Don't compete anymore but still shoot a good bit, thinking about getting back into it. Otherwise, I dick around with my rifles and loading, fishing, tinkering with shit, drinking, used to be big into cars, now I just help swing wrenches for buddies, thinking of getting more into offshore fishing.

Just trying to live a Jimmy Buffett song.

Post subject:  Re: Other Hobbies?

Typical family stuff- raising kids- being late as late as possible and leaving first when attending family stuff. Opposite when hunting or fishing much to my wife's chagrin. First out last in.
embarrassing my wife, kids, inlaws and parents
Starting big projects that I'm not qualified to do, and taking forever to wrap them up.
I don't golf or watch sports. I've upset a few people missing parties and whatnot, but you won't see me at a couples shower or brunch. It's fine if you don't hunt or understand my desire to do my hobbies when I do, but many are set by seasons, migrations and weather. I'm going, just not sure when....
We live in a modest to small home with the idea that it keeps us as free as possible both in terms of upkeep time and mortgage payments, to pursue other interests.
Beer and bourbon ( where big projects start and slow down)
Cooking, BBQ, sausage and jerky making, smoking ribs and brisket
I collect different types of salt from around the world.
I also buy local seasonings, hot sauce or bbq sauce when traveling
Reading
History- especially military and technology/manufacturing
Gardening- growing a lot of food and seasonings, making salsas, growing hops, maple syrup in the spring.
Upland bird hunting and dog work, hunting deer, coyotes.
Long range shooting and the stuff that goes with it. Used to really be into all kinds of guns, now just into accuracy and hunting.
Small scale farming- raising chickens, managing hunting land- food plots, stands, shooting lanes, buffer strips, habitat projects.
Fishing- catfish mostly, salmon, trout and saltwater when I can get away. Flyfishing when I can and it makes sense.
Bow-fishing, spearing, snorkeling, diving
Upsetting people in the summer, driving mud motors in new places that usually see a handful of canoeists/year
Driving and restoring old cars My wife and I used to ride motorcycles, but hung it up when the kids came, maybe again someday.

With a couple of young boys, running businesses and being involved in a trade organization, I'm finding way less time for this stuff than ever before. Even duck hunting has gone from every weekend and some weekday mornings and evenings to a handful of really good hunts in very productive places.
My wife is super supportive and many of these hobbies are how we spend quality time together, otherwise it wouldn't work to simply leave her with the kids while I go do as I like. Also, just getting to the point where the boys are able to come on an outing without really compromising the activity, which is an exciting new chapter.

I'd like to try an airboat when the kids get a little older, definitely do more traveling and hopefully some guided big game hunts and fishing/diving trips.
I'd also like to plant an orchard and a vineyard. Not enough hours in the day!
It's hard to find balance at times- we talk about big things like building a new home versus staying where we are at and how it would impact hobbies and other fun stuff.

So swanger is the one who harrased DG in that yellow slicker. Trophy shots of frogs on the ground next to a gas pump? You're hardcore. 45th - I know way too much about you now.
