I realize that this topic may have been ran in the ground several times.. But I'm just not finding the info that I want.. I'm about to purchase a new boat, and I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to build it. I hunt several different wmas I'm Arkansas and have spoke to sevetal wardens and rangers that say It's only a matter of time before all wmas in Arkansas go to that rule. My original thought process was, as long as it's 35hp block then your ok.. But after taking with a Jefferson county game warden, he said if it's a 36hp motor with any mods then it's not a 36.. I'm just curious as to what you guys run in that area . about 50% of my season is spent on wmas so if all the wmas go to that rule, I need to make sure I'm legal..

If its a 35 block there's no way that they would ever be able to tell on the spot that that thing is cranking out a little more than 35hp..if ya got a mikuni on it then yeah probably can but heads and cam in it nobody would ever know but you, still looks like a 35hp motor with a 35hp rating sticker.

A buddy of mine has been running a 45 mag motor for the past month then he asked me how much I thought it would be to add heads cam and carb...only for me to tell him it already had heads and a cam now as is. Lol

Didn't we just do this? Why are the answers gonna change? So you basically just copied and pasted minus a couple sentences

I hunt all over arkansas and live here and my buddies (game wardens x2) both said that they are putting up a bill this year to ban all mud motors from anything other than rivers and NWRs, and lakes, basically all WMAs. Just saying mud motors such, don't buy one.

Its the same here on Continental land and Fur. Hell Troy (Blueshamu) is dealing with this. Crwaford is a stickler for this. You could do heads, cam and stock carb and get some noticeable gains, but still appear stock. He wouldn't even allow after market exhaust.

How much extra hp do you think doing the cam and heads would be?

No need to worry about hp. You will gain some load carrying capacity (bottom end) and probably 3 mph on the top end
