What's the state of affairs up there with all this water? My family is planning on staying on the lake Apr 7-10.

Wich place are they staying at? We have worked the last 3 days trying to save everything we could. Lot of houses and b and b places will down for a bit. Shady glade motel side is dry but waterside is under. Johnsons store is under.

I'll be going too. Staying at the cabins at Lafittes. Man I hope the area in general isn't damaged too badly. Aside from our trip there's a lot of old structures and history in that area. Last time I saw Johnsons store was 10+hrs ago, kinda hurts to see just the roof outta the water and I'm not a local.

Well that got scratched about the time it got started good..... 2ft of water inside the cabins at Lafittes Landing.

At this point I just hope they get everything back in order for them selves. Crossing fingers for June.

Does anyone know about other places to stay in Jefferson or within a few minutes of the lake? Caddo lodge is high and dry up on a hill but the big house is booked and honestly we'd need to rent all three of their places to accommodate the whole family.

-were still looking for something but it's looking more and more like we're going to have to scratch this trip and try again in the fall maybe.

Stay at a Hampton up there before - 20 minutes from Uncertain and state park....

FYI...

Shady glade has 3 mobile homes. They are across the street and I believe they are ok. They are larger and should easily accomodate a family.

Shady Glade looked booked when we need it. Pretty much everything had no availability or is currently flooded and will need repairs...

Like I said, I'm good with staying in town and just using the state park boat ramp or whatever. Doesn't have to be on the water necessarily.

No water got into the actual cabins or houses for hodge podge . Glad because we have a lot booked their as usual. .

Sad sad for these people. The vegetation problem shouldn't be a problem after this besides locals raking it off their lawns.

Probably sent a bunch south too. It has been quite bad for many. Got some friends that just bought their first house (closing 3 weeks ago), but the flood insurance doesn't take effect for 2 more days.

We hung this one up and are going to stay somewhere else instead. I'm still planning on making the ride up there in June. Hope some sense of normalcy has returned. We'll be staying in Shelby County on a private place. It's the off-season on a big hunting retreat type place and we'll be able to hog hunt and be 20min or so from Toledo. Sounds good to me. The fam will have to try Caddo in the fall or maybe next spring.

I'm looking forward to it!!

I checked with the Canup's and their cottages are okay but 2' more and they'll be under water.
