Buy unrefined red pepper/ non ground and sprinkle it in the yard. You will have to reapply after it rains but it worked for my healer I had.

Thx I'll give that a try. Bought some granules from Walmart that's supposed to deter dogs and cats and it didn't work at all.

About 5lbs of powdered Cayenne pepper sprinkled where he's digging fixed all mine from digging... A friend of mine has used that sticky pepper spray. It sticks to the grass etc... Just don't do it on a breezy day, you'll run everyone off within a few hundred yds

Yessir msm. She's gets plenty of expertise and attention but digs like a sonofabitch. Thought someone might have more of a home remedy vs the psychological aspect of a digger.

Obedience training worked with one of mine, but doesn't with all (notice I said "one" lol).

We did find that as soon as the beagle mutt started, if we threw a stick or frisbee or something to distract, it would change his frame of mind enough. But if they're outside without you, that probably won't do it.

I threw the dogs head in the hole she dug and started putting the dirt on top of her. She only tried to dig that one time.

Mine use to be bad about digging until I started filling his holes with his poo. It took a couple of days but it worked like a charm.

The poo method works pretty good. That is one of the methods I use. My pup starts a new hole beside the one I filled with poo though. I am about to give him the ole high level 5 of the e-collar. My last dog figured out real quick. I did give the dog a "safe zone" to dig and cool off behind a hedge. She knew the rest of the yard was off limits to digging.

Cayenne can permanantley taint a dogs olfactory glands and they won't be able to smell as good. Might make it hard for your dog to find downed birds. If it's not a hunting dog. Then don't worry.. no physical harm but it fucks up their sniffing ability. Especially if it's not just a passing whiff. If they sniff the equivalent of a line of coke they might not smell right the rest of their lives

It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face.

Mixed up and applied about 20oz of red pepper, lemon pepper and chili powder and used it as a chaser to a gallon of vinegar spread around her digging area. She's not real interested in digging right there at the moment. Kinda got a wtf look on her face. It's a doberman Jake, not a hunting dog.

Borrow someone's e collar. Before using collar spend some time learning how to use it effectively.

Aggravating as hell. My wife's weiner dog digs like crazy. back before my dogs nuts dropped and we could have them out together. The weiner dog taught my lab how to dig. His holes were much bigger. Now that he's the dominate male we can't have them together. He doesn't dig anymore. That plus the e collar. Weiner dog however. He's the kind of dog that if you're not paying attention to him and you leave, He will find things you like and piss on them or chew them up. Hate it. Told me wife after that little fucker dies or get killed she can't have a dog unless it has a job. Sometimes he's cool, but not enough for me to like him. I've tried to give him away several times but unfortunately I always get caught.
