Took the wife to Little Rock to pick up a new ride (to her) yesterday. Took the girls with us and kinda made an outing out of it. So we get done and she wants to swing by best buy to grap a new laptop b4 we leave town. She's driving but wants me to drive home. So she parks, goes in and I get out and get in the driver's side. I immediately notice a older dude sitting in his car just looking around about 50yrds in front of us. Then he starts staring. I thought at first he was looking at her ride. It's an older h3 but a sharp ride. Anyway he gets out and starts walking toward us but starts veering to the side and approached about 20ft away on the passenger side walking parallel to us. He was walking and holding his far hand close to his body like he was holding something and he never looked away. It was damn odd. The girls were in the back seat so that made me a little more on edge. I locked the doors and rested my hand on the Springfield I was carrying. Just as he got to the back he was busted by some other ppl sitting in a car. He changed course quickly and walked into the store. So my wife comes out and he comes out 15 seconds behind her. He gets to his car and I stay there and watch him drive off into traffic. She asks what was wrong and I told her. I told her what he was wearing and she said he approached her in the store and acted like he was buying a pc and asking all kinds of questions..... but he didn't come out with shit. She didn't want to be rude so they talked until she was done and left. I'm not sure what that fella was up to but he was up to something. It gave me cold chills thinking about "what if" it had just been her and the girls. Cause the wife didn't have a clue. Her windows are dark and I'm not sure if he saw me and got spooked or just changed his plans. Fellas remind your ladies and kids that there are some bad bastards out there and situational awareness is key. |

I bought my wife a 9mm and taught her to shoot for when I'm not there. A conceal and carry purse makes it alot easier for a lady to hide a gun than a dude. I carry a glock 22 .40 cal and she carries a eaa witness pavona 9mm. Whenever we go out together usually both of us are strapped. I carry my gun at work too. I work for a commercial roofing company as a heavy equipment transporter. I go to a lot of shady places on my own getting jobsite ready. Been the victim of attempted car jacking in my f450, been knocked out with a 2x4 and mugged when I was picking up a trailer. Both these happened in downtown wichita, ks. I figured if I've been targeted twice probably a good idea to carry at work too. Not to mention we had a mass shooting 1.5 miles from my shop. It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face. |

Might have been a good time to video the guy, his vehicle and license plate and then later email it to the police. Glad all ended well for you and your family. Thumbs up on being alert! |

It's scary out there for sure. My woman won't go anywhere without her pistol and I'm damn proud of her. Glad nothing escalated for yours. |

situational awareness is the key phrase there. So many people are clueless. I am looking around all the time. I try not to but myself in a situation that would encourage something to happen. |

I'm wanting to do that for myself. I'm hoping to talk her into getting her cc. Her family doesn't hunt so she didn't grow up around firearms. She's not real comfortable handling one. A professional might be able to get her over the hump tho. |

Med, I am glad you guys made out alright. Its a sad situation for sure. Netman, in general, what would happen if, say, the robber/whatever tried to get in the Med's wives car and med met him there at gun point? I ask this, because I had something similar happen to me, and I actually had to show my gun. Sorry if im not perfect on knowing the laws... |

Here, in SC, you can shoot someone in self defense of another person. You better be sure you know the full story tho. It is easier to say you were defending your family tho. Gun laws are different tho... Check your local state laws. |

I left work around 1am back around Christmas time and there's was a little white car parked between me and a buddy's truck and we both left at the same time and there was 4 big black dudes sitting in the car watching us and my buddy walked over right in front of their car and took a pic of the front to guys and the license plate and they hauled ass out a there. The cops couldn't identify the guys but car was stolen. Made the hair on my neck stand up and I had the chills all the way home. Crazy feeling when someones watching you with no good intentions. This was about a week before the the next closest store to mine got the manager held at gunpoint while she opened the cash safes.. |

I'm glad we didn't have an issue. I hope I never have a confrontation with a firearm involved but he wasn't getting in the vehicle. Especially with my girls in the back. If he had intentions of entering that car he made an excellent choice. |

Bryce each scenario is different. It comes down to protecting your life or someone elses. I'm just glad med got to tell us about it than seeing it on the news. |
