Just traded my '11 power wagon in for a lower mile '15 Laramie power wagon. I know some of you guys run p wags and was wondering if any of you guys have done the plug and play locker bypass so the lockers can be used in 2hi and 4hi. If so who'd you get the unit from and what did you think? Thinkin of gettin this done for my new one. There were a few times where it woulda been nice to have full lock in 4hi. Or even rear lock in 2hi. |

The building of the bypass kits have swapped hands a few times, the latest fellow (Shelby) has mentioned he doesn't have time to build them anymore. I'm not sure who will build them now or maybe you can get up with Shelby and get the parts, but, it's one of the best things you can do. You can also hard wire them but will have to install rocker switches somewhere. The bypass kits has relays and resistors to trick the system and allows you to use the factory control knob. I have one of Morgans first ones built and haven't had a single issue in years. You need to join Powerwagonregistry (be prepared to spend money) there are a lot of new guys with the new PW's and lots of experimenting going on. http://forum.powerwagonregistry.org/index.php Mine looks like a sleeper but it will fool you. ![]() |

Thanks Will. I registered in power wagon registry the other day but I haven't gotten my confirmation email yet. So the mod is definitely worth it huh!? How hard is it to put in? I'm decently mechanically inclined. I think I could handle putting it in if it's mostly plug and play. I can turn wrenches but I'm not big on wiring or trouble shooting wiring. |

It's make it where you can use the lockers in 4lo, 4hi, 2wd and not speed regulated. Basically use the lockers anytime you want and they lock immediately. The wiring is plug and play, a couple of screws to mount the box and that's pretty much it. |

The only thing thats difficult is unlocking the factory plugs, you have to slide back the red tab and then push in another tab to release. Best thing to do is spray them down real good with WD40 to clean them off and help it slide. Not sure why you haven't received the email yet, try logging on. |

I emailed the guy last night and he got back to me right away. My login finally got finalized tonight. Made a few posts but it says they need to be ok'ed by a mod first. I read about every post on the bypass. Seems to be pretty straight forward install. I'll be gettin one in the near future. Thanks Will! |
