So after a lengthy search I chose a Beretta Outlander for my new waterfowl gun. Read a lot of guys love em and it felt the best out of everything I picked up. Only problem I have is they are killin us at work and I don't know if I'm going to get a chance to even shoot it before season comes in. So no patterning, no load/ammo testing, no choke choice, basically shoot from the hip when I get to hunt. Ive read some on the internet that the Kent Stuff is patterning best. So guys that use one of these what is your opinion on ammo. I'm feel I'm good with choke choice. I also shoot 3" don't see any need for 3.5. Thanks in advance.

It doesn't matter what gun I shoot. I always use an improved choke and the cheapest steel I can get my hands on. I should pattern and test different types of ammo, but just dont make the time to do so. I shoot a 28ga OU with improved on bottom and modified on top with the cheapest 2-3/4 winchester #6 steel I can find. It is very deadly... even when hunting divers.

My son patterns his comp O/U but it is only when adjustments are made to his stock.

Crayola non toxic. You melt crayons, drip them through a metal strainer, makes perfect size shot. Empty the shot out of some lead hulls, then add the wax shot. High brass squirrel shot loads work best. Patterns great, and kills ducks.

Improved or Modified choke with some cheap steel shot is all you need

Been using dirty federal blue box #3 steel 3" with no hiccups with my beretta 3901, clean the gun every few trips.

I had to make the choice last season to either buy 2 outlanders for me and my son, or 1 high dollar shotgun. I chose the 2 outlanders and have no regrets. I shoot improved cylinder unless I'm killing geese. The shotgun last season shot everything I put in it and neither gun jammed on us. Great shooting gun.
