I can possibly trade my 40 merc for a 2012 pd 36 with 115 hrs and manual reverse. Is it a good trade or no? I'm dumb about a sd and could really use a little guidance |

What kinda shape is it in? How does it run? Any pictures? what year is your motor? Seems like a good deal to me |

To me it's my favorite generation of pd. I'd have the reverse pin recall done immediately and be prepared to replace shafts for no good reason. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Also need to consider what boat you're putting it on, as well as what is your usage for the boat. If you've got a riveted 1536 with an old wood-core transom and drive on a big lake with 2 buddies to your hunting spot then you're going to hate that motor combo. But if you've got a mud hull and you need to run shallow/stumps then that sounds like a nice swap. |

He says it runs great and is all stock except for the prop. It would be going on a 2012 war eagle16/48. |

Looks like it's been ran in salt water to me. Not sure if that matters to you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My merc is an 06 4 stroke. I was gonna either trade it or keep it and save up for a smaller boat and surface drive for ducks |

2012 is still the older gear ratio lower with a grease filled lower. I still run an 07' that has the oil filled lower. Even if the boat was ran in salt, the grease filled lower would be better than the oil filled for that. Little thicker and not as easy to intrude water. Also notice it has reverse and power trim. Hydro reverse can be easily added to that frame and use the existing trim pump system to power it. The 2012 engines were also CDI so you may or may not have high rev coils, more than likely, you don't. I would say if it bone stock and no mods, which it appears to be, make the trade. Looks good to me. |
