Tip of the week, Killing Fleas
This is a rough year for fleas around my house. I use poisons as a last resort. A while back i tried dawn in a garden sprayer. After 2 nights spraying they were gone. I spray it about once a week as maintenance. It takes about 30 min to soak it but its worth it. This is mostly concrete around back of my house and shop but i spray the grass to and didnt hurt it. Just thought i would pass it along

I bathe my dogs with dawn dish soap, it kills the fleas on them also!

Any good dish washing liquid will work. All insects are covered with a wax coating and breath through their skin. Water will not stay on them, however adding the dish washing liquid allows the water to stay on them and they drown. You can dash some on a wasp nest and it will kill (drown) all of them including the pupa in the nest. Some will not die immediately, but their wings will become wet and can't fly, just step on those. Try this, find some water with a water spider on it. Mist some dish washing liquid mix over the water. It will break the surface tension of the water and the spider will sink.
Another thing that dish washing liquid works for is in a sprayer with roundup. Some plants have what I call slick leaves and water will bead up and run off of the leaves. Add dish washing liquid to the sprayer and the water will stay on the leaves and then kill the plant.
Another thing that I have used it for: Fire ant beads. Mix a five gallon bucket as though you were making dish washing water and saturate the bed. If you pour it over it slow and let it soak in to the bottom of the bed you will kill all the ants including the queen.

Best way to kill ants..... -molten aluminum. I have a bed at home I've been cultivating and grooming just for this project. I want to see what it'll do. This sucker is huge. If it was in the yard I'd poison them and be on my way, but this ones in the woods away from everyone so I've been feeding the bastards lol. Throwing them scraps like a pig. Probably not the cheapest or most user friendly way to kill them but it surely has to be the most fun

Just make sure it gets dug up so we can turn it into a hood ornament for your boat.

Re: Tip of the week, Killing Fleas
While we are on the topic.... anybody have any remedies for those damned little raspberry ants? Every time we get a few inches of rain and the yard gets wet I find them in my water well shed and on my porches. I spray/treat every few months but situationally, these things can get outta hand. My main concern is them taking up residence in the motor of my jet pump. I've hear horror stories....

Re: Tip of the week, Killing Fleas
I got some spray from a local pesticide guru. So far there are results. He said to spray twice and then go back with a granule he recommends. $85 for 20oz of this stuff... better do something
