Came across a potential great deal on a GTR 23 with really low hours. I know who owns the motor and know it was rearly used so the really low hours a legit. ball park what a motor like this is worth? I will be buying it to either flip or put it on a smaller boat for lakes around me with HP restrictions. Thanks.

Do you know the year? Does it have reverse?

A new 25 big block is 7400 + delivery/setup.
A new 25 EFI Kohler is 6950 + delivery/setup.

You can find a new 23 vanguard (engine only) for under $1500 (or even possibly a Subaru 25EFI). I paid 3k for a 2013 frame with reverse in 2015. I see them in the $2500 range now. That said - you could have a new motor and used frame for around 4,000. Maybe 3,000 with a used motor.

Sight unseen I would value what you're looking at in the $3,500 dollar range. I haven't been able to locate any for sale online for comparison.

Not apples to applies, but a new 23HP GDSD runs 4,400. I assume its harder to sell these in areas not near 25HP restrictions...it may be a little harder to move that motor if you plan to flip it.


Only my opinion to give you some numbers to think about.

It's a GT "R" so it has reverse. Motor has less than 20 hours but I don't know the year yet, I asked the year and I'm waiting to hear back. I hope to get it for $1,700 which is a great deal IMO. I didn't know the value of one as I couldn't find anything really similar. Thanks.

2k and under would be HARD to pass on.
