Green interior LEDs
If red light preserves night vision best then why does everybody put green LED's inside their rig? Am I missing something?

Re: Green interior LEDs
Red doesn't preserve night vision any more than blue, it's just harder to see from a distance so the perception is it's better at night, and sometimes the red isnt quite as bright as the blue or green.
People use green because it tends to be the brightest perceived option aside from white or because it looks cool maybe. White is the worst at attracting bugs, with blue second, then green and red are probably similar.

Re: Green interior LEDs
Your eyes can see more shades and variations of green than any other color. If you have to run just one tone of colored LED, green will let you typically see better shapes, shadows, and contrasts than others. This is the reason low light optics (NVGs, etc) are typically run in green. I doubt that’s why most people chose that color.

Re: Green interior LEDs
I ran green in boat under catwalk on one side just to put a glow in the boat during early morning duck hunts and late night fishing. Keeps it out of your eyes so you can still see at night.

Re: Green interior LEDs
I run green because it is bright enough to see inside the boat but not so bright that I can’t see when running with them on.

Re: Green interior LEDs
I bought some of these hoping they are more durable . The strip lights never seem to last more than a year.
