 Re: Barrack
Because of the oil spill. He imposed a 6 month moratorium on all new offshore drilling.....including wells currently being drilled.
This will probably cause gas prices to shoot up. And when it does everyone (some dumbasses on here) will blame the "EVIL" oil companies and not the dumb fuc in Washington.

 Re: Barrack
When the accident happened all it did was fuel Obamas fire to stop drilling in the gulf and get him what he wanted.
What a Phuck Stick.

 Re: Barrack
Actually, I don't blame the "evil" oil companies. I blame the "dumbfuc(s)" who works for the oil companies who decided it was ok to ignore all the rules and place the almighty dollar above the safety of the workers and the environment. Obama can kiss my ass but if you play with fire long enough you will get burned sooner or later. BP just got burned. Unfortunately now we will all have to pay for it.

 Re: Barrack
That's a shame.
I once heard that for every well, there was 500 or more companies involved. From the tool companies, caterers, transportation and the list goes on and on and on.
You know they bailed out the auto industry because too many would lose their jobs. I think there's probably more folks working in the oil & gas industries than the auto companies. Maybe we should get a bailout after all these folks lose their jobs.

 Re: Barrack
all those people who do 'niche jobs' for deepwater drilling that have been living check to check are gonna be screwed. should be tons of f-250's and houses in broussard for sale, cheap. might find a good deal on a boat as well. maybe even a 'used' trophy wife .

 Re: Barrack
There is nothing cheap about BEING GREEN. All that bio fuel/alternative energy BS, It cost a lot of money to make that shit happen. The difference is it goes in someone else's pocket, like the ones backing it up.

 Re: Barrack
how much dirty energy did it take to make that little clean energy box? do you know? silicon valley uses a lot of dirty energy to make the parts for clean energy devices.... also it still needs fuel.... hmmm wonder where that comes from?

 Re: Barrack
If I can buy a box that would last me 10yrs, power my house and it would only cost $3K, I'll take one. If it lasts longer than 10yrs, thats even better. I don't see it happening in 10yrs though, we'll see.

 Re: Barrack
i read somewhere that it takes 1.5 gal of desiel to make 1 gal of bio desiel. by the time you use fuel to plant, fertelize, harvest and truck the grain.
how is that better?
people dont realize what it takes to build the green stuff. still need power, manufacturing, trucking, etc... to make it and get it there
i dont think there is any good ansewer to the problem
